Nice video and great comparison. Really wanted to hear what you thiought about the Milwaukee. You basically confirmed what everyone else claims it to be and that is more powerful then the Flex. I own the Flex and agree I feel it lacks power compared to the corded “Beast” Flex. However, I feel the Flex are so easy to use. You looked awkward using the Milwaukee and it even sounded so different then the Flex. And I feel the battery charger on the Flex is superior to anything out there. Like how it shows time left to be fully charged. But thank you for the video! Gave it a thumbs up!

I also love the flex charger!! For me I decided to keep the Milwaukee and sell the flex but I mostly did so because of the multiple Milwaukee batteries I already had. I believe either one could handle 100% of the 5” needs of a regular guy in his garage.

Noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH), also referred to as noise and vibration (N&V) In case others had to look it up too lol

Do you think a 3.0 battery would make the m18 a little less tiring to hold or does that ruin the balance and make it top heavy?
@improvedgarage2 жыл бұрын
I really dont think it would change much, the 3.0 xc is around 1.69lbs and the 5.0xc is 1.8, so i dont think you would notice much of a difference in weight. The tool is pretty balanced with the 5.0, and the runtime is good, milwaukee ships it with a 6.0 in their kit, so i think going with a 5 or a 6 would be my recommendation.

Would you recommend this for a first time detailer? I am debating between a g9 and g8 for the same price. If I pick up Milwaukee I will most likely hand polish small areas. Let me know your thoughts! Milwaukee has a great deal right now with a 6.0 battery

I bought it and then sold off all of my corded machines, i find them unnecessary. I guess it would depend how many hours a day you are polishing, the cordless is heavier than a corded machine, and you need to manage batteries. Whats great though is that you dont need to manage cords and its really easy to grab it for something quick and then put it back on the shelf. This definitely has more than enough power for any type of correcting. I would want to own 2 batteries so that one can charge while the other is in use, with 2 batteries you could polish almost 100% of the time just swapping batteries when one dies. I personally use this, the Rupes HLR75 (3") and the Rupes Nano, and i don't want anything else. I would start with the milwaukee and then buy a cordless 3" when you can swing it down the road, between those two you'll be able to handle 98% of things you come across.

@@improvedgarage such an amazing and detailed reply. I guess I will pick it up not only is the convenience but smoothness and vibration vs the griots. I’m just detailing my own cars as a hobby, and even for spot polishing the convenience and no cord hitting the car seems worth it. Thanks a lot! Keep up the videos

@@improvedgarageahhhI just got mine and it came with a 6.0 battery. I'm thinking of returning this as I bought my first Milwaukee hammer drill and driver set that came with 2 5.0. How long does your 5.0 battery last you? I'm still waiting on pads, the 6.0 I heard runs from 25-55 min depending on compounding vs polish
@improvedgarage Жыл бұрын
@@gzhen123 I would say on average I get 30-45 minutes. When you consider breaking that up with wiping and cleaning pads and other stuff I can charge a 5.0 in about the time it takes to run one dead

Have you ever tried the dewalt polishers
@improvedgarage10 ай бұрын
im curious about them but i haven't. Ive had Milwaukee tools for around 20 years at this point, so switching would be really hard and i try to have as few battery systems as possible. There are some people in the facebook groups that im in that use them and like them, im sure its similar to the milwaukee in performance.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the Milwaukee. Big question I have is how does the Milwaukee compare to the corded Rupes LHR15 mark iii in regards to cutting power? Would you recommend having both or can Milwaukee replace the corded polusher? Thanks!
@improvedgarage2 жыл бұрын
For me, I want for nothing when I use the Milwaukee, I gave away / sold my corded models. I find the Milwaukee equal to the Rupes in terms of power, although maybe a little more vibration in use. The M18 is certainly capable of being your only tool, the batteries last a long time, for someone who is a professional it may be more convenient to use a corded model, for me as an enthusiast, ill never use a corded again.

Have you tried seeing if the batteries fit each other? I'm curious because they look the same and I want the mini/micro polisher flex has that milwuakee does not offer
@improvedgarage Жыл бұрын
i didnt, and no longer have the flex to try them. i do have the smaller flex PXE80 as well and thats a 12V unit, so the milwaukee batteries definitely wont fit that.
@Savemeee3 Жыл бұрын
@Improved Garage Doesn't the PXE80 take the batteries that look similar to the 18 volt batteries that Milwaukee and Dewalt use?
@improvedgarage Жыл бұрын
@@Savemeee3 it takes a flex 12v battery. The kit comes with a pair of batteries. The connector may look the same but it isn’t. Flex does have a charger design that can accommodate both 18v and 12v batteries, which is nice.
@Savemeee3 Жыл бұрын
@Improved Garage Gotcha. Yeah looking at the connection points for the batteries they look the same. The locking pins are the things that look differently. I want to say I saw an adapter somewhere so you could use other batteries with the flex. I ended up buying an Adam's Polishes micro Swirl Killer since it was on sale for a pretty good price

Is there difference in torque in Milwaukee between the 5.0 and 6.0 batteries?
@improvedgarage Жыл бұрын
Im sure there is, but I don't find it noticeable on the polisher, because it has more torque than it needs. so I'm never really using all of it to begin with.

hows the NVH of the milwaukee?

I personally think tis great. I just did half the mini in a few hours and loved using the tool. One battery for half a car is also awesome!
