Vibration exposure is mainly used in car plants (also some professional bodyshops) to track it over time for their employees. Regarding trigger lock it's against safety regulations in some markets to have it on a rotary/random orbit tool. Via the app you can disable the variable speed function of the trigger and instead just have it as on/off. Then you just set the rpms on the buttons on the polisher. Great review!

I have the same machine except the 3 inch Rupes but my experience is different i tend to use the Flex PXE80 most of the time specially one a more curved panels (i modded mine to be able to use a 3 inch rotary which i think made the polisher a total package), it has ton of power that if i needed more cut i switched to a more aggressive pad and or compound. The Mirka has a ton of power that if a beginner uses it might get overwhelmed. I like the Mirka but love the Flex.

Interesting! I had the flex, and i sold it when i bought the rupes HLR75, i liked the rupes 3" and nano better than the flex. The flex still represents a good value because it can be a 1" or 3" and costs less than either one of them, and it did the job. The mirka could be tough for a beginner i agree, the lowest speed is 4000 RPMs which is still on the high side. At the end of the day, there are lots of different tools and all of us have our own priorities when we are buying them. Flex Rupes and Mirka all make excellent products that perform well and will get the job done. thank you for watching!

I know right we had opposite experience but now that i think of it more i think its the 3 inch rotary that we can't really use unless u mod it, is what s held the tool power back, coz i modded mine a few days after i got it, looking forwards to ur next vid.@@improvedgarage

This is a great review! I do like the PXE80. I like the quick connects to change orbit/accessories, but you are right, it’s a compromise. I have the Rupes iBrid, which is annoying to change orbits/backing plates, so I just use it as a 1”. I skipped the Rupes “Stilletto” lol, but I pulled the trigger on the Mirka last week, hope to be able to try it out this week. I hope the trigger doesn’t piss me off, lol

This somewhat depends on what paint you're polishing, but i generally like the Rupes pads. Ive found their blue wool pads and their white foam pads to work really well on my mini. Ive also had good luck with Koch Chemie Microcut pads. Welcome to the channel

@@XL_BEAR the rupes is a great machine, if i never used the mirka i would probably still be happy with it. For me i like chasing "the best" and the channel provides me with justification to "waste money" sometimes :). Im sure youll be happy with either one.

Thank you. Since Mirka is only sold in few places, I’m leaning toward clean-garage online store. Have you ever ordered from them and do you have any good/bad experience? They also carry a lot of other items (Koch power pads, rupes etc)

@@XL_BEAR Mine came from beavertools.com, they had mirka before all the detailers found out it existed and it blew up online. Obsessedgarage.com is where i learned about it, he now has them in the store as well, i originally saw it on his youtube channel. If you happen to order from them there is a link in my description. To directly answer your question, i have ordered from clean garage in the past and have had a good experience with their packaging / shipping, i honestly tend to use them as a last resort because they don't produce any content or try and teach people about products, they just sell everything they can. They do carry some brands that i like (poka premium) that nobody else carries.

I honestly don't know. I never noticed a difference or thought it was loud until I owned the mirka. if it did get loud it was slowly and over time.

@@dillon599 scangrip makes good products. They aren’t cheap so it just depends on the use case. If you already have good overhead lighting then I would say to just go with a smaller handheld to do spot check with.

Im not done with the video yet, but you want the 2.5 in my opinion. The 5ah makes the machine much more awkward and doesnt have any power difference. The runtime is longer but the 2.5 is easily sufficient. @@rokkz

Close to 900 bucks for this thing is ridiculous. Can use a 5 or 6 inch for 80-90% so spending that much for a tool you might not even need to use doesn’t add up. Just like buying 3 different 3” polishers lol jk. What different combos did you use for your test spots?

It's a luxury for sure, and definitely not for everyone. I personally don't have an issue with the price, I can name a dozen different things we don't need, but I really like having all of them. I tried my normal combo, rupes yellow with perfect finish, then I tried KCX micro with a KCX micro cut polish and liked how that worked. I used the KCX on the green mini I just did and found it did really well on that too. Ultimately I did the whole car with KCX except for a few spots that had deeper scratches, which I hit with a rupes yellow wool and rupes blue first.

@@improvedgarage so you used two different finishing polish? Should have just stuck with perfect finish combo with yellow pad which I’m guessing you learned through esoteric detail? Sounds like all you needed was to do a one step. Assuming the work is properly handled the results perfect finish provides (if no cutting is needed) wouldn’t benefit by following up with another polish

Milwaukee doesn’t make a 3” da, or a nano.. You could buy a Milwaukee 5” and a rupes 3” for about the same price as the mirka, i mentioned that in the video. As far as not worth it.. every person has their own values and priorities and I respect that.
