So happy for Jessica! Late bloomer, she is a great example to all the players struggling early in their careers. I was happy she won her first 1000 last year in guadalajara, and this year she's been consistent too. This final in Montreal is so well deserved. A great person, poker face, mature persanlity. I am thrilled for Jess. It's a bit odd because Jess does not get to be talked about for having a particular strength. She appears so even in all areas. Nothing striking as: a super mover, lightening rod ball basher, super back hand, killer instinct forehand, tall and ace leader etc etc. Yet she took Iga out! Admiration and respect.

Jessica Pegula played phenomenally. She wasn't afraid of 1ga Swiatek and once again proved why she is one of the most consistent tennis players on tour right now. She was brave and showed how to play against 1ga Swiatek. Jessica Pegula truly is one of the best tennis players on tour right now. Even when she was 2:4 down in the third set she didn't give up and won this match. Her consistency, much better doubles and singles experience, mental strength and freshness were the key to her victory in this match. I hope that she can finally win her first WTA 1000 tittle in this tournament and third of her career.

In fact, it was a lucid clash in accordance with the standards of Iga. She could have overpowered Pegula in 3 sets but she couldn't adjust to the circumstances this time. At the same time, she couldn't get the rhytm. It was very tough to maintain her versatility on the court. Moreover, the techniques of Pegula were immaculate. I like Swiatek. She's consistent, brought some stability to the WTA, and is a likeable personality. At the same time, there's something really one dimensional about her tennis at times, and I feel like she needs to add more variety to her game in order to maintain her top ranking. I don't necessarily enjoy watching her tennis, and I think that speaks volumes.

I'm Światek fan and I'm proud of here. There is nothing to be ashamed when you losing to world nr 3 at court where your opponent feels best. Congratulations to Jessica today you were better. Regarding Iga game, it's hard not to notice that today she had huge problem with serve. She lost 11 gems on own serve thats really unusual of her and still was so close to win. Against Collins and Muchova in also 3 set match, she lost only 3 gems while serving. You can't explain this statistic only by your opponent performance, her serve was slow and inaccurate. Definitely she wasn't at her best physical shape today, late game against Collins tired her out. Iga just needs some break to recover and will be fine.

I, too, noticed this pattern with Iga. She beat Bencic and then lost Svitolina game the next day. You jump over a high wall, but that takes the energy to jump over the next one from you. Today, Pegula had a relatively easy game because Iga's service was easy to receive for Pegula. The story will be quite difference when these top players meet again, and they will soon enough.
