This is just a brief tool recommendation. For a full review on the details and functions of this unit I recommend watching Gadget Class's videos and comparisons of digital calipers.

I very much appreciate your review. It echoes others and for my purposes the one you have there is the one I'm going to get. I use calipers for reloading and have been frustrated with the poorly made one that I have been using. I won't mention the brand. They are a little Husky for my purposes.. ;)

Is it normal for these to come measuring 0.02mm when closed, out of the box? I sorta assumed the Absolute Origin feature meant they'd zero-calibrated it and stored that in memory at the factory, so I was a little surprised to see that when I first turned it on. Of course I was just able to press the Origin button to reset that back to 0 myself.. But now when I turn it on, occasionally it shows -0.02mm for a split second before showing 0.. Which seems like a really odd behavior. Otherwise it seems well built, very solid.. a little tight to move but mostly smooth enough with only a minor rough spot, and the max measurement comes out at 155.89 on mine. lol Hopefully I got my $40 worth..

@@Dr_ritik So yup, it's pretty normal. ;) I haven't had any real issue with mine. It does occasionally need to be re-zeroed, since it'll show 0.02 or -0.02 on boot occasionally, but that's more due to temperature differences, or even just some dust in the jaws or whatever, so not worth worrying about, they all do that.
