My best friend of 20 years and his little brother both died homeless on the streets last year...October and January. They were the most loving and caring people and the imagery in video is SO hauntingly similar to what their final days were like. Yes, honest is the way to describe Iggy Pop's lyrics and music !! This guy is just an honest rock and roller, every album he does something different and has great guest musicians. And it always feels legit. And today he still goes on tour with great musicians and still does his crazy snake dance and jumps around like a teenager on speed. While young artists are exhausted and burned out constantly doing aerobics and lipsync to a backing track. Doing songs that were written an produced by a legion of writers, producers and marketing strategists. I think the songs "Ugliness" and "Drink new Blood" are Iggy's feelings about these people 😂 The whole "Beat 'm up" album feels like that. Again brutal honesty! Man Iggy Pop is really something...

@@TheCultofshiva you nailed it my friend, Iggy is a rare breed nowadays. So many lip syncing bands now. Like KISS, where Paul Stanley lip synchs onstage for a three year tour, total bullshit!! Iggy would never do that. He should be cherished by true rock and punk fans, while he's still here doing it!!! I love how different each album is, he takes chances and it's awesome! I remember that there was a paragraph written in Iggy's handwriting, on the CD of American Cesear, Iggy says that he tried to create an album that was real and honest, not using any formula crap. I know I'm paraphrasing here, but it was really cool to see that on that CD. He is one of the greatest performers music has ever had, he is an icon, and I love what he has created all these years! In my opinion American Caesar is one of Iggy's best albums. Remember listening to it on repeat on my Cd-player at night when I was trying to sleep, one summer in the early years of the 2000's. Seems like ages ago now.
