Man, I forgot how much I liked MuchMusic the way it was, down-to-earth, when there was real communication between artists and the veejays. Genuine personalities from the deejays too, unlike the animated cardboard cut-outs of today.

Saw Iggy at his craziest, during the Funhouse tour. Never seen any band, anywhere, with the intensity of the Stooges.

My gawd.......the dude knew how to charm people (still does)......can imagine this Canadian dame was totally overboard sitting in front of this little energy bundle.........🖐🤩 Although "Instinct" sounded right at the time , it hasn't stood the test of time like his 70's work , it sounds too formulaic "heavy man".......Iggy playing the record business game. Although you can't blame him for finally wanting to earn a buck....

Yes, when he was in Los Angeles after Iggy and the Stooges disbanded. So, Ray Manzarek & Danny Sugerman the Doors'manager took him in. They were hoping he could replace Jim Morrison. But he was too far gone on heroine. So Sugerman accompanied to the UCLA psychiatric hospital. One month later he moved to Berlin with David Bowie.

The bands he mentioned might be interesting to see live , but I'll bet he wouldn't play their boring records.... Somewhat dissapointed he was so short of good guitar players he chose to work with (during "Instinct")a bloke from Hanoi Rocks. Which were the ultimate cliché merchants......Andy Mc Coy boy. 🖐🥴.....While his ex Stooges were desperate for work. Such a funny interview this...the guy was running...(as he always was ofcourse)...

is he wearing a wig?
@PAULLONDEN5 жыл бұрын
Are you mad ?...around that time he had still enough hair to change styles now and then... These days he does wear a wig though....and looks slightly silly with it.....these rockstar pensioners are too obsessed with their hair, which is understandable ,coming from the 60's when long hair was uber important...
@maxsmart91164 жыл бұрын
@@PAULLONDEN are you sure he wears a wig these days? It's certainly plausible since he's 73 now, but it looks real in recent interviews I've seen, although definitely highlighted.
@PAULLONDEN4 жыл бұрын
@@maxsmart9116 Yeah. ...you're right ...These days wealthy people don''t have to wear wigs to camouflage their hairloss ,There are better alternatives these days ,like implants or extensions . Iggy manages to make it look natural (even if it's coloured) , unlike Bowie or Jagger who looked somewhat silly with their unnatural full (non greying) head of hair . Although one can understand the temptation for such guys ,to go overboard. Having mostly sycophant yes-men/women around them who'll applaud anything.
@maxsmart91164 жыл бұрын
@@PAULLONDEN Iggy is perhaps the only famous person I'd want to meet. Always direct and down to earth. Seems even more jovial in his old age.
