I just finished the game and man! what a ride it was amazing! the visuals are gorgeous!! The gameply is superb, I know they said in the video that the autolock was annoying at times but its really not. The only thing i found annoying was the camara, some enemies move very fast so you need to keep moving the camara around rather than focusing on fighting the enemie, it didnt happen in all stages just in 2 or 3. Should you buy this game TOTALLY

If you guys want real, unbiased, well-written reviews done by an educated and well-respected industry veteran who doesn't get bribed by publishers to give high scores to shitty games, go watch Adam Sessler's on rev3games. I really have no idea why I still bother with IGN. Their entire staff seems to be made up of a bunch of cynical, pubescent assholes who barely managed to pass high school English. At 2:35 he says, "The 360 version is the way to go here 'especially' if you're looking to play on consoles." Take a second to figure out what's wrong with that sentence. Also, the fact that this guy liked the story of this game, says a lot about how low his standards are when it comes to depth of narrative in video games. Let's not even get into why their scoring system is flawed beyond reason to begin with. Subjectivity can't be measured with numbers because it's not a science. Giving a game 8.9 is like saying "This game is 8.9 liters " What constitutes every 1 point? What are the criteria that a game must meet to earn each of the 100 decimal point? I liked IGN til I reached 15, but ever since, I've been visiting the site from force of habit. I'ts like smoking cigarettes-- You know it'll give you cancer but it's really difficult to quit.

Bardia Ashtari I see where you're coming from I really do man. But believe it or not reviews are just informed criticisms. Dmc has a metascore of 85. Are you really saying that the majority of reviewers are paid off? Do you realize how fucking big of a conspiracy that would be? And here you are stating your opinion as fact saying Sessler's review is a "real" review just because he happened to dislike the game. You know what else he disliked? Uncharted 3 and Sly Cooper Thieves in time. Many people disagreed with his OPINION of those two games. Also; Depth of narrative of games? Are you fucking kidding me? The majority of game stories are awful and can't even compare to high rated films and books at this time. Not even close. Games have the narrative depth of big blockbuster movies. People play combo based action games for the story? I dunno about that. Reviews are never meant to be stated as fact, and I'm pretty sure people who watch multiple review are not "robbed" of sixty bucks often.

Got this yesterday and finished it 5 mins ago, didnt want to stop playing. Its a great game, the combat holds its own and the plot is enjoyable. The dialog made me laugh a few times too. My only gripe is the menu screens are very bland compared to other DMC games and look like little time was spent on them

2013 is already starting off AMAZING. Ps4 reveal last night, 3 amazing action titles released within the first 3 month. Both DmC and Metal Gear Rising were beyond AMAZING. Can't wait for god of war ascension!!! I've never heard a legitimate gripe about DmC yet. I thought its writing was juvenile but witty and fun at times. Dante was grounded in reality more which I loved. I thought this was a HUGE step in the right direction for DMC. This game hasn't flopped by any means.

I think the main complaint was the fact Dante wasn't "Dante" and it was far too easy to get an S/SS/SSS rating making it a joke in half of the fights. Dante was a kid friendly role-model (at a time when everyone was edgy as can be, on drugs, and thought anyone who didn't listen to alt-metal was a loser, and smoking was cool because "Who cares about lung cancer?" and etc, was the general attitude, especially in America and Japan, the game's biggest marketplaces) before who loved Pizza, and had a genuinely funny sense of humor. This Dante is none of the above.

Heres what i thought of DMC: Characters: Liked them a lot, i prefer the new Dante and Vergil to the old ones much more. Story: Very interesting, i actually didn't skip any of the cutscenes thats how good it is. Never been so thrilled by a story in a game since Metal Gear Solid 4 (even though i hate MGS). Gameplay: Epic. Mind blowing. Better then God of War and Metal Gear Rising and even the original 4 DMCs combat system. The best combat system in any game i've played (in my opinion). Graphics/Visuals: Insane, amazing, stunning, breathtaking, phenominal etc. Soooooo much detail! Not much else to say about the Visuals to be honest. Boss Battles: Art, Perfection, Insane, Beautiful, exhilirating, spectacular, terrific etc. Couldn't ask for better boss battles! Some have giant scales immense power and one of them has a classic rivalry that's a privilage to be part of! My Final Score: 9.7/10 Pros: Stunning Visual Great

Nabeel Chutkae Ninja Theory have confirmed they are making more games. Whether Capcom decide to continue DmC or the Nero and Kyrie story is nothing to do with Ninja Theory. I think the sales of DmC are more down to how badly DMC4 was received by the fans. There is proof of this in the DMC HD collection which has not sold many copies either.

some people say change isn't always a good thing, but that's not entirely the case. sure this Dante is a lot different from the one we all love and know. yeah it has its fault like Ebony and Ivory being completely weak at times, Vergil not being the badass who he originally was in Devil May Cry 3, and the Devil Trigger mode was a complete slap in the face. but other than that it is a great game, and it has earned my respect. all of the new changes took a while to warm up to, but past that and i can play this shit for hours. so stop whining and complaining people!!!

TheAshevillian Yes. The games weren't as popular as Capcom thought they would be, and the story, or rather lack thereof, was a convoluted, non linear mess. Not to mention that they all play out of order with 3,1,4,2 and 5. The reboot was a way to fix all that. Wiping the slate clean and starting a new game with a new story to bring in new players into the DMC franchise.

didn't like this game. it's not like i don't respect other's opinions about this game, it's just not my thing. i like the original dmc games better, and although that may make me sound like a bias jackass, i just wanna say that i didn't like their take on dante. they tried to be different but loyal to the original dante at the same time and it didn't work for me. He comes off so much like a douchebag that it gets annoying. the original dante was also a douchebag, but this dante kinda comes off as the jock from football who is an annoying dick to everyone. that was pretty much my biggest complaint of this game.

I've never played the other DmC games but let me tell you this one is super fun! I love the level designs and gameplay! Not to mention the boss fights are pretty insane as well! So far I give this game a 9.5/10.

Mild Monster You have to think that, if this isnt just the title they will be working on, it creates a better continuation than the Originals. Back in the original, since the game industry isnt that mature/developed yet. The story telling isnt as great as of today's standards. I like the nonchalant cool Dante but this game is a good fundamental in the spin off. The Classic DMC isnt a continuous story but picked events. If you think about it, the sequel will eventually make the Dante be like before. Well I am a BSc in Games Development and it is stupid to say "cuz he dont have the cool in him and he acts childish cocky teenager" -_- . Well Ninja Theory just added more story to his young state and will progress like the classic one as the story unfolds. ONE MAIN THING, this game caters to a more mature audience, so it is not really meant to be jolly and flowers.

The gameplay is ight, and the soundtrack was cool, but changing the character from a a half human half demon to nephillm is stupid. Wat even made the game more dumb was the devil trigger. Plus the title should be dmc5, the story was of the game was suppose to be before dmc3. As right now, dmc is trying to make a come back with the original with the remastered dmc4, and see where it takes of because that crap made by ninja theory wasn't all that and a bag of chips

Thanks man, I ended up getting DmC, rising sounded a little too hard, and a bit on the short side. I really like this game though, the story is great, and like you mentioned, the addition of mini missions are nice.

here is what i thought of this game : characters; Nothing really memorable , very dull set of characters. gameplay: Repetitive , while action packed is a lot easier than predecessors , combat fluidity becomes broken when weapon specific enemies come into play and combat is hindered by poor control mapping . story: not very good , while I commend the game for being a commentary on the modern day , its story isnt anyting special and is forgetteable to me. art / visual design: this is just brilliant in my opinion , i love the art of the game and the design they put into the visual elements. The game is okay , if you want to get into DMC i would say start here just to get a feeling for it but once you have beaten it , drop the game and pick up its predecessors in the hd collection and dmc 4, DmC is good but it ultimately is not what it should have been which is a reinvigoration of DMC as a series but it fell down in terms of story especially in its ending and gameplay where the controls hindered its fluidity and it watered down the difficulty .

Guillaume B Yeah I do know what a reboot is. But let me ask you this. If a reboot involves changing everything that everyone loved about the older games and characters than it shouldn't even have the same name as the older games. Also IGN Is acting like this game is perfect but there are some problems with it that were not in the older games how in the older games there were not red and blue enemy's that forces you to use one type of weapon to beat them. Also bosses were a lot better in the older games because bosses in DmC are just boring repetitive and just drag on but in the older games most of the bosses felt like stronger versions of enemy's not the unoriginal wait for the enemy to hit you and dodge then hit them while they're not moving. Another thing is that they got rid of the style system which was one of the biggest improvements in DMC3 so that alone just downgraded the game. So yeah I have reasons to prove why the older games were better. Also the view on new Dante I will admit it is based on opinion not fact but in my opinion he's not to my liking.

Seriously if you take a minute, sit back at what is really going on and what your looking at and what you hear said out of everyones mouth, Yeah its kinda awful. DMC 5 is way better with the characters, story of whats going on it dosnt look weird af, music, and fighting. It may not have the easy uppercut move that is in DmC but Devil may cry has always been about complex combo mastery and OWNING your enemy.
