Nadal hitting a one-handed backhand? No, that is completely wrong. Only when he slices or backhand volleys, is it ever one-handed. So much for good replication of actual tennis players.

Analog shot controls do NOT work properly.There is a significant lag between analog input and execution wich makes quick response nigh-on impossible at times.This makes the game all the more aggravating at higher difficulties or after the 1st season at Career Mode wich makes things frustrating.So you end up fighting the controls more than fighting your tennis rivals.Rent before you buy and DON'T listen to this review and buy straight away or might end up beeing massively dissapointed.

People, dont be fooled into buying this game ! sure the graphics are lovely. However the career mode is TERRIBLE. It has a default difficulty, you create your own player and beat EVERY player you come up against, you will become bored of winning every tournament. I made the australian open final within an hour barely losing a point,, whats the point in upgrading a player if you can win a slam with a player rated about 30 beating Federer rated 90, Youve been warned !

How can you possibly say this is better than Top Spin? This is quite arcady, and unless you somehow prefer that to realism, Top Spin is MILES ahead in gameplay. The movement in this and Virtua tennis is such a deal breaker, it's like there are clowns runnning around on the court.

Yes it was a nice review, but the reviewer has failed to mention some of the faults that could throw people off with this game especially when there are die hard tennis fans out there. For example the slices in this game doesn't look anything like a slice at all and some of the players such as Nadal and Djokovic will for some reason hit a one handed backhand rather than their proper two handed that they really possess. I believe 8.5 is a little to high for this game, it should be a 7.0 at best.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!!! This game is so bad it sickens me!! Have you ever seen a tennisgame where the ball never goes over the lines???????????? In careermode I won the grand slam with a rating of 35 in Superstar in less than 30 minutes!! And I have never played a single tennisgame before! Sorry for all the !!!, but this review makes me angry!

GST2 LOOKS great but plays horrible , if GST2 had the gameplay and ball physics and ball hitting sounds it would be a GREAT game but other than that TS4 is the game you want in terms of simulation , i just started to get into tennis and imma pick it u to learn more about tennis ;D

Worst game ever....killed the great reputation that GST1 had. GST1 was great and racquet control was real, this one is a joke. I have no idea why they did that? they killed the game. we still play GST1 online...GST2 is shit.

The commentary and crowd are almost always dreadful in sports games... but admittedly they're not the most important features. I'm not even that into tennis but I still thought this looked cool.

I still think Virtua Tennis 3 is the best. Yes you heard me VT4 is horrible and VT2009 was O.K. The only thing with VT3 are the characters.. no Djokovic of course since the game is old. And they dive a lot. But that also has to do with how you're playing. But the gameplay is REALLY good. It has only gotten worse in the newer editions of VT.

I HATE how sports games try to make everything evolve around the right stick. It bugs the hell out of me. I enjoy pushing buttons, using the stick to do things like swing a tennis racket or shoot in basketball just isn't enjoyable to me. Does anyone know if you can choose to use buttons to swing the racket in this game?

First year of career mode I dominated all the majors and it was really boring. Second year, a little harder, but still winnable. 3rd year started getting really tough, but I learned some tricks and improved. 4th year: Getting owned by first round opponents and no skill increases in sight. Turned the game off and I don't plan on playing again. Turns out it was upping the difficulty every year. Higher difficulty levels should be for extra-skilled players, not EVERY player...

all tennis games are shite the ball slows down before you hit, plus they are really easy, plus they only have like 8 players, one reason which makes Wimbledon and other grand slams amazing are all the unknown players who cause upsets eg Steve Darcis beating Nadal

Not to mention that in Top Spin 4 was broke because 90+ power characters were better than anything else. It was just an unfair advantage. Great game, but I hope the next big tennis game is more balanced.

Nelekets That's not true, every time I played my mate in Top Spin 4 and he used Roddick i always won, but the matches where he used other players it was more even. If anything i had an advantage cos you can just use their power against them and run them around and win the points easily.

1. animations dont look fluid at all, i could tell this straight away so it didnt feel like a real game. 2. i wish it had the option of bbc sport commentary/presentation 3. the gameplay feels a bit arcadey solve all of them and the game for me would be worth getting (although the second point isnt a need for me)
