He hasn't got the guts to argue with Perry about a raise, never mind wear that outfit and fly around! Sure, yeah, he's big - he's a Kansas farmboy, what would you expect?" As for which one is "real", Gunn's right - both are. They're just two aspects of one guy.

What Gunn said about Krypto is what I was thinking about Gunn as a whole when it comes to his comic book movies. He's the type that would go into the lore and use characters no one would. He embraces the comics. Also, the Clark from Smallville is the real one. Both the Daily Planet Clark and Superman are acts.

@@DRAdams-vl3sn ya see at some point I agree with you as a big fan of more grounded approaches to characters like Robert Pattisons Batman or Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man, I can’t say that it’s really an issue in this context, Superman is honestly one of those characters who is pretty hard to fully flesh out while sticking to grounded approaches, sure Man of Steel was great but let’s be honest here that was sort of the limit, but when it comes to like actually making them a little bit more comic booky JUST enough where if some crazy odd stuff happens, it doesn’t seem out of the ordinary

i used to also hear all the time that clark is the disguise and superman is who is he is. but over the years and more than likely this movie. Clark is who he is, superman is what he can do. so yeah he is a mix of both that makes perfect sense to me. He is a nice nerdy dude, who feels awkward. but he can do extraordinary things :)

Okay while I was not thrilled or excited about this movie, seeing your synopsis on it gave me some hope for it. You did a phenomenal job of explaining the characters roles, the underlying issues and plot points, and the fact that Clark Kent/Superman are in fact a very complex person and knowing him or both can be tedious at best. James Gunn did a terrific job on the Guardians of the Galaxy series. He was able to take a lessor know property and make it mainstream and very popular. I was never a big fan of Guardians of the Galaxy until the Gunn movies. IF he can get the same type of work and excitement out of this movie it could really be good.

James Gunn: On behalf of the peers in your generation, let's just say I never thought anyone could lure me back to version 5 (or more) of Superman since Christopher Reeve. (Not quite old enough for earlier versions.) The promise of this trailer has done exactly that. The inclusion of the theme to that first movie from our youth actually got to me. Dang, man. oh im very familiar with the silver age of DC my older sister gave me a big bunch of Superman and Batman comics from 1965, she was pretty much the only girl that collected them where they livd which was very awesome.

I think if anybody was seriously looking for any sort of real romance going between Louis & Clark in James Gunn's version of Superman can forget it. This movie has "Dawn of Justice League" vibes in that as others have mentioned Lex Luther would have set up SuperMan, and the other DCU heroes will either be siding with him or against him (most against). At best Louis will play her typical role of damsel in distress as she always does in the comics

Unsure of Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor but he is a good actor. I'll stay opened minded. Nathan Fillion is almost unrecognizable in the trailer and I can't wait to watch Anthony Carrigan in the film, such an amazing actor. Check him out in the tv series Gotham.

There is a big problem with this movie: It seems that it introduces to many characters in the same time. That same problem has The Justice League with the first version. So, no. I'm not hyped by this trailer. But it's clear, that we will find it out when we watch it.

I really liked the trailer. Made me smile. This coming from the biggest MOS/Synder/Cavill meat rider. I’m optimistic but also a little pessimistic. Everyone’s complaining about the suit, trunks, teal colours or bad colour grading and unfinished effects or too many characters. No none of that. It just looks and feels too familiar. In a strange way I feel like I’ve watched it already. Like I know what to expect. A few shots were too similar to MOS. It kept reminding me of MOS and a little bit of Superman Returns. Despite the addition of new heroes joining the fray and the introduction to Krypto this feels like a retread. A compilation of all the best parts of previous Superman works but this could be its downfall.
