thank you NVC. i was already in college when the DS dropped so wasnt really aware of it until the ds lite was out cause i was too immersed in the school experience. but loved how the ds including gba slots and then transitioned into the 3ds era too. amazing that logan's DS xmas 05 when he said he was 7 was basically the equivalent for me of getting the sega game gear likely christmas 91 when I was also 7.

favorite ds moment was bottom compartment allowing you to play game boy and game boy advance games on the ds lite....and being able to hook up your pokemon emerald at the bottom of the ds lite and transferring your pokemon from pokemon emerald to pokemon platinum. it was so mind blowing at the time to transfer from a gen 3 cartridge to a gen 4 cartridge

I don't quite get why people feel the New Super Mario Bros. went on too long. They reinvented 2D Mario with the Wii - awesome game. One for DS and one for 3DS. Great! Then a definitive double-pack HD crowning achievement on the Wii U, which easily deserved a deluxe edition for the Switch. Is it because of the sparse cadence on the WiiU that people resent it being the launch title? The games are foundational.

The DS, and later the 3ds, was the console of my childhood. So much time spent playing Pokemon Black and White 2.

almost a faux anniversary as i really dont know anyone hardly at all who had the original bulky and chunky model but everyone I knew had a ds lite or later model....
