Power steering pumps are super easy! I recommend not putting the car in full service mode but taking the bumper off and loosening the front bumper mount bolts to pull the radiator back a little.. it’s not required but sure makes a lot more room to get small hands in there.

Off and rolling. I'm a huge fan of the DIY content and looking forward to the next repair video. These are 20 year old cars now so issues are expected. For the DIY mechanics, these cars are not intimidating but rather a fun challenge. Keep the maintenance sharp, and follow your manuals. The results are rewarding. This is the most complex car I've owned and I'm loving the experience so far. You're now a part of a unique car community that aren't just like everyone else. Nice video. Check your suction hose going into the pump. They tend to dry rot and crack. It’ll suck in a lot of air and sound just like that. 034 makes a nice replacement hose for it.

Think your buddy Omar gave you some bad advice. The section you removed from the return line is not just a check valve, it is a flow restrictor designed to limit the return flow back into the reservoir. That is why your reservoir is frothing and bubbling, too much unrestricted return flow going into it.

My old S4's went through wheel bearings all the time. Miss those cars: brilliant black (stage 3) and nogaro (stage 2). I want another to really go through and make perfect at some point. Maybe make a crazy quick avant for sleeper purposes? Fellow MA native, and NH neighbor, good luck in this storm!

You either love Audi or you don't. B5's are definitely challenging to work on as are all Audi's are but I still love them. Save yourself a lot of headache, change all your vacuum lines and all your hoses and probably change your sensors and shit like n75 valve. Make sure your turbos don't have any shaft play. Check your oil pick up in the oil pan and make sure it's not clogged and do an oil change right away and maintain them with proper oil. And you might as well do a tune up.

Okay. Who here will be replacing power steering fluids in their car just as precaution because of this ? 🤣 Most people replace engine oil and that's it. But there are other fluids in the car also.
