The iGPSPORT BSC300 GPS computer is iGPSPORT’s top cycling computer in their Bike Smart Computer or BSC lineup. This is a compact GPS computer that features navigation and a full color screen with vibrant designs. Despite being the top-of-the-line model in the BSC lineup, the BSC300 still has an affordable $159.99 retail price. The GPS computer features a 2.4” non-touch color screen with 320x240 resolution and a full map view. As far as data display, the BSC300 supports eight page display with up to eight items on each page. The BSC300 can also be paired with nearly any sensor (i.e. power meters, cadence, heart rate, etc) except for bicycle radars. Inside the slim body of the GPS is a 600 mAh internal battery with a claimed 20 hour runtime and a USB Type-C charging port.
The iGPSPORT BSC300 uses a standard quarter-turn style Garmin mount which uses two protruding tabs that lock into place on a corresponding mount. iGPSPORT includes a simple handlebar mount with two rubber straps to attach it to a stem or handlebar. It’s a simple but effective way to mount the BSC300 on a stem or handlebar. However, we’d highly recommend getting an out front mount for a sleeker setup like the Topeak UTF or iGPSPORT’s own M80 mount. The M80 is a simple left-sided plastic out front mount with a contoured design. It retails for only $16 so it’s quite affordable but requires a separate adapter for mounting cameras or lights underneath it.
Marketed as the ultimate bike smart computer, the BSC300 is iGPSPORT’s top model in the BSC lineup. This computer takes the features of the other BSC computers and adds a colorful display. The BSC300 shares the same compact 82x53mm proportion and with a slim 14.5mm thickness with the other BSC models. To add some flair to the computer, iGPSPORT has added a faux carbon fiber finish on the bezel of the screen along with a 2.4” color display with 320x240 pixel display. The computer has a sleek appearance with beveled edges and a combination of matte and glossy finishes. There is no exposed hardware on the computer which gives it a premium appearance along with iGPSPORT branding on the top of the screen and the front edge.

Got this for good price, my Garmin 810 has been reliable but getting old. The BSC300 easy enough to use with good quick start guide, mobile app and website, it does what I need. It drains battery slowly in use and recharges quickly. Why pay more?

Do you recommend using a certain settings for the GPS setting? There's 5 options that seem to combine a few different GPSs. Thanks and great review. I'm loving mine so far, my miles seem to be short on some of my rides but I just changed it so it won't autopause anymore and will make sure the GPS signal is connected before I start my rides for now on.
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists 4 ай бұрын
Here in the US, I've never had to modify the defaults for the GPS settings on this or any other computers. Are you seeing any GPS cutouts during your rides (i.e. tunnels / tall buildings / dense forests)? If so, you might want to add a speed sensor which would give you a more accurate distance and speed as it would use a front wheel + wheel circumference instead of GPS for speed and distance.
@2Philthy
@2Philthy 4 ай бұрын
@TheSweetCyclists ok, interesting. I already have the speed and cadence sensors which is odd. Next time I'll wait to make sure I have GPS signal before I start the ride and I've turned off autopause to see if that will help. It does it way too much on my rides because I ride steep and technical terrain. Also strange because when I go into the GPS after these rides where my miles were short, I go into Navigation and activities to navigete my past routes, the correct mileage is there, but not my recording. . . SMH.
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists 4 ай бұрын
That's a bit strange. If you are already using a speed sensor with the correct wheel circumference input, then the distance and mileage should be based on the sensor and not GPS. The only thing GPS would add is the map overlays.@@2Philthy

Thanks for the hands-on look. Do any of your computers allow me to look at total 'time in zone' if using a power meter? For example, if I want to get 30 minutes spent at a certain power zone for a session, do any of them show that? Currently on a Garmin 500 which doesn't have that feature but would love it. Alternatively, do any of these have any sort of warning feature if you stray outside of your target power zone? That would also be handy so I don't have to stare at the numbers when on the road. Some of these cheap units seem to show workouts ( 11:00 ?) but I can never find out any info on what these modes do.
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists 6 ай бұрын
I haven't seen that before on the live display screens. Typically most post-workout pages will show time in each zone based on the entire activity. You can display the active zone which can help you stay on track.

Can I make the numbers bigger ? At least the MPH AND CADENCE, or choose two or three items on one screen page so they look bigger. ? Or they will always show the same size ? I am struggling seeing the numbers through my sunglasses. Maybe black and white big numbers with only MPH , CADENCE , distance , time .
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists 5 ай бұрын
You can adjust the layouts to have less items on the screen and make the font size slightly larger (see 10:09). Also you can switch the display to be night mode all the time (white on black) to help contrast. However, the BSC300 is fairly small so I'd probably recommend a larger computer like the IGS630 which has better readability.

If you upload a route for a ride but then go off-track, does the BSC300 record the new route? I mean: at the end of the ride, when you download in the app or in Strava the data about ride, does it give you also the track of where you actually went?
@TheSweetCyclists

All GPS computers always track where you've actually gone - the selected route is only used for navigation purposes. It isn't part of the exported data.

how does this stack up against the iGS630
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists 7 ай бұрын
The features are nearly identical between the two. I think the big difference is the monitors size, the iGS630 is larger and easier to read at 2.8". Once you've used a larger GPS computer, it's hard to go back to smaller versions.

@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists 2 ай бұрын
You would have to check with your specific watch to see if there is compatibility. Most of the bike sensors (speed / heart rate / cadence) have Bluetooth and Ant+ so you should be able to connect them to other devices besides a GPS computer.

How do you plug in the address into that thing without having your phone connected to that device?!
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists 2 ай бұрын
You can upload multiple routes to the GPS computer's memory and access them later. You'll need to use the app to upload the routes to the device, but after they are loaded you should be able to start navigation for that route. I don't think the BSC300 supports navigation re-routing without having the phone connected though (that is usually only available in higher-end computers), so it will revert to simple arrows to get you onto the pre-loaded route.

@@JesusGodHolySpirit3Almost all GPS computers will require an app to at least import routes onto the device. Higher-end computers like the Bryton S800 do offer voice navigation where you can tell it a location but it still requires an app. For around-town navigation your best bet is a cheap phone with Google Maps type app, you can even download maps offline so you don't really need internet service the entire time.

I have the BSC300 and a friend has the 630. Despite doing spreadsheet training on mine, only when I went to do it with my friend, I realized that the 630 at the end of the training gives an evaluation of the training, I didn't find such a feature on mine. Question, at the end of a spreadsheet training, does the BSC300 really not show the training evaluation?
