I recently exchanged a Chapman Pro Modern ML1 for this and I found the Ibanez to be so much better in very way.

Could not agree more….been playing for 30 years semi pro… tried Chapmans…..absolute dogs to play but “Chappers” is a great salesman with a following of bedroom players who swallow his every word… good for him… genius marketeer

Ibanez really hit it outta the ballpark with these AZ series guitars!! Usually I complain about how expensive guitars have become these days but these are well worth their $

I wish they made an affordable version of these. But I totally agree, they are have a fair price.

The clicking noises we hear at 6.30 is lack of lubricant in the tremolo arm slot. I fixed that in seconds with big bends nut sauce.

@@incitatus634 Well ive had my AZ2204B prestige for around 7 months its an amazing sounding guitar,the neck is perfection and stainless steel frets are amazing.The pickups can play almost any genre theyre really unique in comparison to hss strats ive played.The bridge is a Gotoh T1802,its honestly really good.When i first got it,it had some issues staying in tune for a few days,tweaked the truss bar and adjusted the Height post some that fixed it.The trem itself is unique and i love it but it started making a clicking type noise recently when i would flick the bar playing polyphia.Fixed it with small amount of wd40.Overall i LOVE this thing.Its bridge combined with its perfect neck and unique Duncan hyperion hss setup makes an all around,very versatile,Reliable and unique sound and experience.

@@incitatus634 Idk how long youve played (9yrs for me) but learn bittersweet by polyphia and howl by covet.Kinda challenging and these duncan hyperions sound soo great in the math rock tunings.Lmk if you need help working the DYNAMIX 9 pickup switch system!

The small cavity cover on the back provides access to the back of the Jack Socket. Nothing else. Access to the switches on the face of the guitar (that Phil mentioned) would require the scratchplate to be removed

5:14 Having a string tree is actually WORSE for tuning stability, because it adds another friction point to the string. Suhr (and others) use staggered tuners which, along with a better headstock design, eliminate the need for a string tree, thus leading to better tuning stability.
@incitatus634
@incitatus634 3 жыл бұрын
Not true, if the tree is properly angled and lubricated it shouldn't affect that much. Staggered tuners don't change that much
@jamescarter9973
@jamescarter9973 3 жыл бұрын
Tuners are height adjustable - so the string tree is cosmetic more than anything.

Nice review! But its not compound radius on the AZ. Its 12" on the whole fretboard

I am an Ibanez fan from way back including owning a Jem. Love the specs. Not a fan of the brown look tbh. Can’t decide if it reminds me of chocolate or something far less flattering LOL

I have this guitar, and its not brown! Its gold, and turns much brighter when in light. This video makes it look brown, I guess just cause of his light situation

according to the website that switch does change the humbucker. In one of the positions its the coil nearest the bridge and the neck together.

I've been wanting one of these for a while - very versatile guitars! They say that the Japanese ones are much better than their cheaper equivalents (Indonesia I think). Andy Timmons should switch to one of these!
@coryfoster9497
@coryfoster9497 4 жыл бұрын
@Ganjang gongjangjang the problem with the Indonesia builds are the quality control issuper hit and miss, if you get something good, you get something easy on par with the prestige, however I've seen and heard of a lot of cases where the quality control was that bad people regretted buying it all together. Played em both and the two I played were amazing, though I could easy tell which was the prestige and which was the premium, something felt just different

Very happy with mine I play much faster on it then my strandberg 8 but I think it’s because of the longer scale length on the 8

Anyone knows any affordable electric guitars that has the softer and lighter tunes that could play neo soul type-ish sounds like the ibanez? Since this one is kind of a hefty amount for me to pay 😅

Just any single coil guitar. Could do it with a danelectro can do it with a squier tele or strat. Doesn't really matter

Here were some of my top picks when I was in the market for a new strat. Some good bang for your buck guitars. - Fender Roadhouse Stratocaster (Mexico) - Schecter Nick Johnston Diamond Series (Indoensia) - Charvel DK22 (Mexico) If you can get the Ibanez AZ2204 Prestige though, definitely worth the money. A guitar than will last you for years. I’m considering the upcoming 2021 model which is the AZ2204N. Hope that helps!

This is more of a fender US deluxe/ultra or Suhr territory when it comes to build quality and price. But sound wise, you'd be pretty good with a Squier Classic Vibe Strat. The CV will not have a neck as fast, but would be very comfortable. I have like 7 US Strat type guitars (some Suhr), and TBH they are not always better than a well tuned Squier Classic Vibe. The CIC ones are IMO at least better than Mexican Strats (heavy and cheap wood) when setup correctly. I have these US models more for the aesthetic and collectable value, but a well set up and tuned Squier is just as good TBH. At the end of the day, you can use anything, a Squier tele is more similar to a Suhr classic S far more than anything else.

8:40 I think what you mean t say is those two pickups are active in SERIES which is like a Humbucker & is completely different to pos 4 on a 5 way normal switch. But WAY TOO MUCH TALK not enough clean listening and your clean and your direct amp sounds isnt very nice.
