I was in the initial Kickstarter that was years ago and honestly thought this one was dead and I would never get it and be out a bunch of money. I have to give it to them they kept slowly plugging along and I should get it early this year. Very excited and can’t wait for the extra kegs and what not to come later on.

I'll be brewing very soon and even after the 3 beer kits I have lots of plans with the iGulu. I will be releasing more videos through out the year.

Same here. After so much time it felt natural to believe we would never actually see the product. I've lost a lot of money on Kickstarter and it's a delight to see this come to fruition.

I was happy to hear yours was in route. I'd reached out to my rep, trying to find out what was going on, but it sounded like they were simply slammed and trying to play a bit of catch up as it did have an insane level of backing over the years.

I really like the way you do your videos...it's all from the heart and no editing you just freestyle the entire time. That would be a neat system for someone in a small space to brew who doesn't have a garage. My wife's nose is like your wifes...I brewed one time inside and to this day I get a comment every once in awhile how bad it stunk! Pfft women 😂

😂I can fully relate about having a wife with a bloodhound nose. I was doing a 1 gallon in the kitchen while she was sleeping almost 3 rooms away. I dropped 1 rabbit pellet hop into the boil, and I hear "What is that smell! Are you brewing!". I was blown away at how sensitive her nose was. Thank you for the compliment. I do occasionally post a piece of paper near my camera with a few hot buttons or major details that I don't want to forget or can't remember but about 98% of my videos are 100% freestyle with my only editing out a few things: brain farts (where I forget something and I pause to remember), mixing up words or losing the ability to speak clearly, or other really stupid things, plus of course when I feel like I was babbling and need to reduce the video length. I left the part where I couldn't get the system out of the Styrofoam, even though I really wanted to edit it out, I felt someone might get a little chuckle from my fight with the Styrofoam.

The Pale Ale is brewing at this moment, and hopefully, I should have the video up soon. The iGulu says it has 5 more days, which I think includes the cooling part. I will tell you I was very OCD about doing it right, but once I started it, I was shocked at just how easy it was.

Agreed on the price of things now days. I'm just really impressed with how flexible the system is and how someone really thought the main system through. I do feel like the beer kits should include tiny packets of sanitizer and I'm finding some minor hicups with the app that they appear to be working on. The system is easily capable of brewing without the app which is a bonus.

I did the Pale Ale brew from iGulu and will have that video released soon with one or two extra tasters this Monday. The video should be released shortly after that, and I'm looking to have it completed and released late next week. Shhhh...don't spread the word yet. I took a tiny sip tonight, technically, it still has 2 more days of cold crashing and is over-carbonated at the moment. Keep in mind I feel all grain produces better beer compared to extract, but that little sip I had tonight was better than many commercial Pale Ales I've ever had! Seriously! I know a lot of people may not believe me but I was even shocked. It was really good and extremely smooth, with a really nice aroma from the Mosaic hop extract. I'm looking forward to a ton of experiments once I finish brewing the next two kits.

Nice system - will be interesting to see how you implement your own recipes in this unit...I guess the process would be brew a 2 gallon batch and put it in one of their kegs to ferment (up to 5 liters) - that might make it fun to do exbeeriments with. Cheers!
@BitterRealityBrewing

Closer to 1 gallon as it appears I can only add up to 116 oz of water plus the malts and other ingredients. So, up to 5 liters for premade stuff, and up to almost 128 total for brewing beer.

looking forward to seeing your brew video. I decided to pull the trigger on one of these and saw on the website something called Master Mode that lets you have more control of the brew process. I want to be able to experiment with this device and don't want to be limited to only using their kits.

I'm looking to utilize the mast mode a lot down the road. Currently I have the Pale Ale kit fermenting and it has about 4 days left which I think includes the chilling to serve. I can tell you that the mosaic hops smell amazing coming off the fermentation.

interesting idea, to have flexibility in the Tabletop brewing world. Wonder how well this would pair up with the Anvil 6.5 for All grain brewing and keeping the number of different pieces of equipment to a min.

I think this is really more geared for an extract brewer, but the convince of having something the is so flexible and would look like a lot like any other kitchen appliance on your counter is very cool.

The device itself is not particularly cheap, neither are the kits, and it is more of a gadget than an actual way of brewing beer.
@BitterRealityBrewing
@BitterRealityBrewing 8 ай бұрын
You've got to be impressed that someone invented this from ground up and the Kickstarter and Crowdfunding shows there appears to be a rather large audience for this type of brewing appliance. I do feel like it fits in with people who love new kitchen gadgets, small batch extract brewers, and people like myself who love to try new things. I agree it isn't cheap, but with an RFID reader, color touchscreen, DC Compressor for cooling, and a few other items, it does help justify the pricing. I buy professional RFID readers for work and they start at $1500 for big brand names.

@@BitterRealityBrewing So it has everything that a typical gadget should have, but also like a typical gadget - it's not really useful for anything, apart from "let me show you what I have" ;-)

Thank you for the chuckle, and yes, I think we all have at least one of those. "let me show you what I have." 😂 We're all kids at heart, or at least we would like to be. (When guests come over and you have a young child, who wants to show the guest every cool toy they have.)

@@BitterRealityBrewing To be clear - although I consider it to be another gadget that will remain niche, like other similar solutions (e.g. MiniBrew Craft, the announced BEERMKR, or even Pinter, although it is a bit different), I am looking forward to your tests. Because although it is potentially "another useless gadget", like any gadget - it has its own charm ;-)

@@PatrykR We're definitely keeping track of all positive and negative critiques for iGulu as all can be constructive! Believe it or not, Keurigs were once considered to be just a "gadget" since people thought "I can do my pour-over coffee just the same", but years later, you're seeing more and more of them :)
