Fun fact: While there is no clear indication in the light novel, the Elder Lich (Iguva=41) that the Lizardmen fought in Season 2 happens to be Igvarge. Both share the same voice actor and half of his face is distorted and this can be inferred to be the hit Mare delivered to his head.

Well he is a druid and in D&D, which overlord his took a lot of inspiration from, druids get a cantrip that allows to temporarily turn any old staff in a very strong magic melee weapon to clobber your enemies with so mare using his staff to bludgeon people is perfectly normal
