Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop P Review : Does It Work ?

I've been using Xiaomi's Roborock S50 for about 3 years now. And the experience has been great. My apartment is about 2000 sqft and it covers every nook and corner of the place without any problem. Of course you can't expect the Vacuum cleaner to do a job similar to a human doing it, but it does clean pretty well. I've been using the Mi Home App for operating it and it works pretty well without any connection issue (maybe because I am using a German server for the app). I've ordered the new model during the crowdfunding stage. Can't wait to get my hands on it. One point which was missed out in the review: The water container that comes along with this vacuum also contains a dustbin included. That means it is a hybrid which could be used for both vacuuming and mopping and you don't have to swap out the containers.

But for the small areas where the device can't encroach, it does a neat job of dust suction and wet mopping. Disadvantages are a few...every time after the use, dust collector compartment needs to be cleaned with a brush and a soft cloth. Mop pad has to be rinsed immediately. If the floor has different elevations device needs to be physically lifted and placed. It's like a typical maid, not 100% efficient but still worth having one. More so for working couples.

You can use it without the app and wifi connection if you want to, it works perfectly well that way too. All you need to do is press the power button once and it will start cleaning.

@@rzeczniknasa7449 you can try to setup scheduled cleaning using the app, but I don't know if it would also need wifi or some sort of internet connectivity.

*The best thing about this cleaner is that no need to worry about placing it on charge. It Automatically goes in the charging dock.*

Few questions: What is the height in inches?? Can we add floor cleaner like Lizol to the water tank?? Does it vacuum corners & wall touching floor sides? Does long hair get entangled?

Please check out Mi's website for dimension information. Regarding your other questions: Floor cleaner: Technically it is ok. But whether it affects the vacuum cleaner on the long term is not clear. We need to see. Corners and Wall touching floor sides: Yes it does and that too pretty well. Hair gets entangled: Unfortunately yes. But it does not really affect the vacuums operations unless you don't clean it for quite sometime. What I do is once in 2 weeks or so I take out the brushes on the vacuum and clean it.

You are totally right regarding the app and the connection bugs. I have the cleaner since the begging of the lock down and would be completely satisfied with it if this issues would improve. Constantly loosing connection, getting confused about room location and forgetting house map 😔 Do you foresee any improvement here?

I got mine delivered today. Had a surprisingly bad experience with the MiHome app. Only thing I was able to do was setup the wifi on my vacuum mop but then no map, nothing except a blank screen with 3dots. Even after a long long delay in shipment Mi has shipped a buggy product.

I have had this robot for over a year now, and I can say that I only really have two issues with it. 1) The battery. I also have the Mi Robot 2s, which doesn't have mopping - yet this older, cheaper, non-mopping version has a 5200 ma battery, whilst the Mop P has only 3200 ma. This doesn't make any sense, as the combined vac/mop cycle takes more time and uses more energy. I would have paid 10€ more for a 6000 ma battery. 2) The device thinks it's shorter than it is - this is a problem as my dining table has horizontal elements close to the floor on each end and down the middle. The robot gets stuck 50% of the time under these, as it goes in at full pelt and gets stuck. A silly thing that should surely have been fixed by now through a firmware update. I have of course tried setting the table as an excluded area - but that's a bit silly - around and under the dinner table is typically a key area where you NEED to vacuum. However these issues are not dealbreakers, the device is still perfectly functional, but you need to micro manage it a bit more than normal at times - which would not have been the case had the two issues above been fixed ahead of release.
