Thanks- the farmer stopped by and said it doesn't over heat anymore. I think pressure washing the outside of the radiator was the biggest help for it.

1456 is my dream rig. Ive got a sweet little 756 i think you would be impressed with. Its still all original down to even the cigarette lighter. I hung a m&w on it to wake her up. Love me some 56 series. Have a couple nice 86 series too

We had a similar problem with our 1206. Was after we had the injection pump repaired. It started running hot and heavy smoke. Ran hot enough to over heat the exhaust. The pump was wrongly assembled in side. the repair was the problem. it severely over fueled and way out of time, that was the cause of the overheating. I installed all new injector nozzles and a different pump, problem solved!

Yeah I did check the timing and it was good. And that is interesting and something ill keep in mind. Thanks...Before I got to deep into thinking about injectors and a pump, I thought I would try to elimate the easy stuff first.

I never tried vinegar. Makes good sense. I used dish washer detergents - like cascade. Noone foaming detergent. Thinking about it.....that would be better for like - oil in the water repairs. Maybe ill try vinegar next time.. thanks

Did you check for bubbles in the radiator while it was running? Could be the head or head gasket. Did you check the thermostat?

No bubbles in the radiator. These heads only Crack when dropped from an air plane or something of similar sorts. It didn't have a thermostat in it when it came...
