I grew up the next block over from the International Harvester manufacturing plant in Memphis, TN. I could hear the machinery all night from my bedroom. I have one and I still use it swapping out the cultivators on the 140. Yeah that's what happened to so many small dealerships these corporate people wanted them to build bigger shops and stock equipment they weren't going to sell out greed. I'm a Red man and always will be but when I was growing up we had an IH dealer in every town and now I have to go 50 miles to the dealership that Hoober has bought not complaining on the service but I keep telling them they need a dealership out my way and they would sell a lot more stuff and maybe turn the country back red. Basically the same thing my cousin said. CaseIH was a pushy pain to deal with. Think it was around 2012 that Case said get big or go away & my cousin said forget it. We're going with Kubota. Good bye! They've been happy with those newfangled orange machines since. Dealing with Kub is a lot like dealing with IH in terms of availability, service parts, training, the whole 9. What's more is, the customers are happy with their tractors & service. That wasn't always the case with New Red. A lot of customers left & bought into other colors because dealing with CaseIH was rather frustrating for a number of reasons. A major one was a shrinking line of smaller equipment. Once Kubota hit the showroom, some people started coming back. Even traded in their green or blue tractor on a new orange one. It's worked out good for them. Good luck at the sale tomorrow! Don't forget your durned glasses!!!

He was a little leery but eventually loosened up. Inside it was like walking back into a time capsule. Everything was intact. Parts bins were full behind the counter. Parts hanging on the wall. Even a brand new never sold bailer was sitting in the garage. The guy was a son of the original owner. Said nothing was for sale. A few months later the building was sold to a contractor for storage. Not sure if everything is still in there or not.

I love the styling of the 460,560,660, and the 40 series looks just as gorgeous in my opinion. Anyone who may have one for sale north of the 49th, I’d be glad to take her off your hands. I promise to make her look like she just came outta the factory, and she will be with her kind. Lol. I have a 460,560,660 in almost every variant (high clear, utility, gas, diesel….etc). Thankyou; always interesting but the best yet! Can't wait to see some results and I hope your "hunting" goes well. Always sad to witness the cost of 'progress' so called; same happened over here (rural Australia) even more so in the past 5 years with the loss of most smaller, local dealers who were often integral to their small rural towns. Is it better for customers and service? Doubt it and I hear continually of farmer's frustration when trying to deal with the mega dealerships. Simply can not understand how someone who pays $1m for equipment can be treated with glib indifference; must be progress for someone I guess. IH was a force in agriculture and road transport in Australia for a long time and there are many bits gear still earning their keep on farms and trucking in Oz. Once again thanks and keep em coming.

IH started wanting the dealers to be full serve or just the compact tractors.
