His family get in trouble and he has to rescue them He manages to survive it all and defeat everyone and everything And wins and the movie ends in a happy tone and the whole movies problems are resolved in a hour and 40 minutes. My biggest beef with Incredibles 2 is that it's Incredibles 1, but not as good. One parent works for shady business folks who think supers shouldn't be illegal, shady business folks turn out to be bad dudes, big fight stopping a vehicle. Fucking brilliant fight scenes, but the family interactions were what made the original so excellent for me, and 2 was missing a bunch of that. There's nothing anywhere near as tense and brilliantly done as the plane scene from 1, or its aftermath, or the "I can't" scene outside the RV. Those scenes were incredibly important to add weight to what was going on, and 2 doesn't have any of that.
@havoren6 жыл бұрын
It’s more of a quantity over quality issue. Incredibles 1 had so much fun shit in it to make you want more while Incredibles 2 is more bloated and filled with boring scenes to pad out the running time. Quite honestly, I think that Hollywood should have avoided the sequel and ignore all the bitching fanboys. Who gives a shit about what happens to The Underminer, who cares about Jack Jack showing some of his powers in the last minute? ONE Incredibles movie was fine, there was NO need for a second one.

The first Pacific Rim is one of my most favorite movies of all time. However Pacific Rim Uprising was a HUGE disappointment. The thing that immediately stuck out to me was just how lazy it was. It took so much that was done in the first movie and recycled it. A retired Jaeger pilot has to come back and kill more and stronger kaiju. (spoiler) Everyone in their squad dies and they're the last ones left and have to save the day. I will give them props for (spoiler) having a kaiju pilot the evil jaeger and having Charlie Day's character become corrupted by his use of the kaiju brain he has. Also the Jaegers aestethicly looked awful in this movie, Gypsy Avenger...? was the only one that looked good. I agree with what IHE said on it being really forgettable. I watched this movie 1 or 2 months ago and I cant remember anything from it. The cons far outweigh the pros in this movie. 3/10 would not recommend

I went into the original one even thinking it was gonna be bad and was pleasantly surprised after seeing it in theaters. Cheese Cookie I also thought it was pretty dumb that the Gypsy Avenger was supposed to be way superior to the Gypsy Danger and yet it got beat up so much more easily, was way less effective against its enemies, and overall was clearly less capable than the Jaeger that it was supposed to be an improved version of. Not to mention the fact that GD has two convertible chain-swords, and GA had a single solid sword until after they fought the rogue jaeger. even then, after it was equipped with dual swords they weren’t even chain swords. Seems pretty counterproductive to remove the combat functions that made it so effective when creating its successor

Just got back from watching Mission Impossible: Fallout and i totally agree man, incredibly suspenful it really has no dull moments just a thrill ride the entire time. Also some of the sound work was so insane, like when the motorcycle is going fast through that archway with the collumns and its going all in and out, and when the lightning strikes during the parachuting down. Really great work all around and I look forward to seeing it again.

MI6 Fallout's story/plot is actually pretty good and complex in the right way. Why does everybody gloss over it? The movie has good characters too. Ethan Hunt's arc about him coping with his regrets about leaving his ex-wife so that he can commit himself to his job that needs to be done to prevent tragedies from happening was well written. People don't give enough credit to this aspect of the movie and talk like the stunts and action scenes(which were masterful) are the only good things about his movie.

I liked Jumanji for the most part. Action was ok, story as well. The Rock being awesome to a ridiculous degree was a punchline for a lot of the jokes and I found it quite funny, same as Jack Black channeling a teenage girl. Only downside for this movie was Kevin Hart, who not only is a poor man's Eddy Murphy (haven't seen much of him) but also took a jock-like reserved tough guy teen to a screaming whiny guy in the game. All other actors had a grasp on their teenage counterparts, but Kevin Hart was just being annoying. The enemy was cool but a bit forgetable as well, and the actor always reminds me of a muppet character Johnny Fiama, but the animal scenes where cool. Liked the action and concept, found Kevin Hart stupid.

Right? It's one of the only movies I've ever audibly laughed at IN a theatre. I found it shocking how he had nothing nice to say about it. Sure it's a cash grab but its one of the few times a studio has actually taken a completely different approach to a property rather than repackaging it, the chemistry between the characters was good, and it had genuine wit at times. Contrary to the video, it also allowed for a rare opportunity for someone like The Rock to play against-type and not be the same "hey look at me I'm strong" guy he is in every movie, which was incredibly refreshing.

It’s not just del Toro’s absence but the choices the new team made. Killing Mako was the dumbest thing they could have done considering one of the things people frequently praised the first film for outside of the action sequences was her. And if they were going to kill her off they could have at least given her death a bigger impact than “her step brother is sad for a bit and there’s a slight delay on information”.

When I was watching The Incredibles 2, I was able to deduce who the villain was not through context clues, but through cracks in the story writing. Because at one point I noticed a certain character had not done one goddamn thing so they must have the big role as the villain. See, a big problem with using cliches (which twist villains are now) is that it makes the story predictable. Say, if there’s a villain whose identity is a mystery, it’s probably someone we already know and is going to turn on us, so who here is either super useless, weak, or unbecoming that we’d never suspect them even though nowadays not having a purpose in the story is super suspicious? The screenslaver was such a cool idea, too.

I feel like the Rock and Adam Sandler are pretty similar in that both have (probably) talent, and just choose not to use it because it's easier. I've got no proof that the Rock actually can act outside of a wrestling ring, obviously, but John Cena's more or less pulled it off so the WWE has to provide some sort of experience in that respect.
@fukyomammason6 жыл бұрын
That was my point... He has talent, he just doesn't use it because he can make money regardless. He's essentially been retired for like 15 years now. I think the Rock *can* be a good actor, but he either keeps getting cast for his physical appearance or only chooses those roles.
@fukyomammason6 жыл бұрын
My mistake. Guess I'm a bit jaded when it comes to the the tone and intent of internet commenters.

CallmeCactusSok Well, to add on to Ben Dover's comment, the Rock also just makes movies for his kids now. That's why he went from making adult action movies to animated/comedy movies after he had kids. Also, if you're gonna mention WWE wrestlers-gone-actors, you can't NOT mention my man Bautista.

The good news was that I saw the movie for free. But IMHO, it costed time that I will never get back. What pissed me off the most was that the group that I watched it with loved it, even though it offered literally nothing...
