Thanks so much for clarifying the pocketed hinge setup. I did something similar to this on a Great Planes Ultrasport build I did on the coffee table in the living room of my apartment way back in 1990 :) My mods were just instinctual improvements to strengthen/lighten/streamline for maximum performance; I really didn't have anyone at the time to bounce build ideas off of. This forum of videos and comment is such a great way to learn collaboratively.

Cool build. Just a tip. Instead of using acetone to clean your iron get it up to temp and rub it on fabric dryer sheet. Works great and leaves your shop smelling great!

Well, having parts be the proper color for the model they go with seems like a quality control issue to me..... The screws being too long is not really a big deal. Wood screws have a pointed tip, meaning they need to be long enough for the point to extend beyond the piece or you don't actually get engagement of the full screw diameter. For wood as thin as we typically use in our models, you would end up with just the pointed tip engaging the wood, which would be bad.
