Awesome interview! As a long time BM fan from Norway I can firmly say that Vegard is one of the few true artists who follow their visions without compromise. The constant question "should Emperor make a new album?" Well, technically every one of the solo albums ARE the natural progression from Emperor. He was pushing the boundry with Nightside, and he keeps pushing that boundry now. I get that people want more "nostalgic/ethereal fantasy" vibe of Nightside/Anthems etc. but I also get that "feeling" from technically all of his solo albums. They stand on their own. I am so glad that Emperor kind of stopped before they became like Metallica (who arguably didn't make a good album since Justice for All...) I am genuinly excited for new Ihsahn project, even when the Avantgarde elements are a bit too much. All the best! Apologies for the rambling. Øyvind

I was lucky enough to hang out for a while with Ihsahn after the Melbourne show with emperor and the amenta. He was just a really sweet dude up for a chat and wasn't bothered by people wanting photos but when it comes to not meeting your hero's (nightside eclipse sucked me into the black metal void in 1994) this guy is definitely the exception. Say G'day to him and you will understand.

The one interview question I never heard asked in an Emperor or Ihsahn interview. Does Emperor have any songs or musical works that never made it to the albums? If so, it would be interesting to hear.

It was through the PR that was looking after the tour, I’d suggest contacting the label rep in your area or touring company looking after his show when it comes through
