Indian Institute of Information Technology Guwahati (IIIT G -NIRF Ranking is 66 (2020) is one of the Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIIT) located in Guwahati in the state of Assam in India. It was set up by the MHRD, Government of India in public-private partnership (PPP) mode. It was declared as an Institute of National Importance under the Indian Institutes of Information Technology (Public-Private Partnership) Act, 2017.
It offers B.Tech. courses in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) and Computer Science Engineering (CSE), and runs PhD programmes in ECE, CSE, Mathematics, and Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS). M.Tech. programmes in CSE and ECE are starting from July 2018. IIITG started operations in August 2013 with B.Tech programmes in CSE and ECE. The first batch of B.Tech. students completed their programme in May 2017. The first convocation of the Institute was held on May 15 2018.
IIITG strives to be attentive to academic needs of every student. Classes are conveniently scheduled between 9 A.M. to 5 P. M. Every class room is air-conditioned and has projection facilities. An Institute-wide Wi-Fi system provides Internet access throughout the institute.
The Institute shifted to its campus on July 2 2018. The campus is located on a 67 acre plot, 4 km from Guwahati airport, on the National Highway. Hostels for 400 boys and 100 girls are ready, as are 48 flats for faculty. A 9200 sqm Academic-cum-Administration building will house all the Institute’ activitities. Besides these buildings, there is a treated water supply system, an electric substation with backup generators, and a decentralised sewage disposal system.
Mr. S. Ramadorai, former CEO of Tata Consultancy Services, is the Chairman of the Board of Governors. Prof. Gautam Barua, former Director of IIT Guwahati, is the Director of the Institute.

Thanks for contacting us.. actually the interview is based on some basics to some extend levels also from ML, AI etc. Basically I am from ECE so in CSE also pattern is similar focuses on the final year project, linear algebra, probabilities, basic paper from your background and litle more advanced from Datascience, ML-AI etc also. Focuses on the basics is the primary thing . ALL THE BEST FOR THE INTERVIEW ...!! Regarding about Placement: Actually placement is too good in IIITG, Current placement Status: iiitg.ac.in/placementinfo.php software companies have good collab with IIITG, developed your coding skill and some apptitude, you will definitely get 10 LPA afte passed out

Basically placement is depends upon coding at the current situation all the markets are grown up with AI, ML, DL, Data scence and development in this field is rapidly growing. That's y as compared to core company in IIIT Guwahati u will will get to chance apper lots of IT companies with very high package avg 10LPA min. Good luck M also from ECE background but placed in software company only based on programming skills only.

A very good reputed college in entire north east and growing institute with very high placement record in both branch. Also IIITG has got a rank of 66 in the Engineering category of NIRF 2020. What is even more notable is that it is ranked the highest among all MHRD IIITs! This includes even the older, Govt. funded IIITs!
