Hi Smita! Hope you are doing good. I am applying for IIM-Indore and I am stuck in writing one essay and that is about listing down any scholastic awards conferred on you. My problem is that there are none :-( . What to write in this section then. I have non-scholastic awards but I don't think that should be described in this section. Can you help ?

Hi, I have a query. What is the difference in terms of chances while applying for R2 applications. Does someone applying for R1 have advantage over R2 applicants? Thanks in advance for your reply.

Hi A Kumar, R1 is better compared to R2 given there are more seats available that needs to be filled.. but the difference is nominal

4 years...but before applying to IIM I had 6 years of experience

Hi Smita, I asked a few queries to PGPX thru mail but they didn't respond, so just wanted to know if one does not lead a team, can he/she still get thru the PGPX interview? Is it mandatory that the PGPX applicants should be managing a team or not necessary? Even will a mid level designation (IT software) without leading a team is enough to convert the call? Kindly respond. Thanks.

Hi arvind, different experiences are rated differently. In case you don't have team leading experiences. Then also you can highlight your other achievements and go forward with the application.

Hi Smita, may I know your total years of work exp? Also can a person with 5 years of work exp with a GMAT score of 730 get thru provided he has an ordinary profile with not much of extra-curriculars?

Hi Arvind, you have a above average gmat so that definitely can help in overcoming lack of curricular. Hence, in conclusion you stand a good stand and should go forward with your application.

@@arvindkrishnan6508 its better to prepare as 50% time of the interview is spent in extempore .. but incase if you don't do well in extempore then you can make up for it in behavior part of the interview

@@SmitaK Also my profile is an ordinary profile belonging to IT software background having 5 yrs of work exp, so shud I do some certification courses to enrich my profile to get thru or not required? Also I have less than 70% in 12th, less than 80% but more than 75% in 10th and a good CGPA in grad, so can I expect a call for PGPX having such academics and with an ordinary IT profile without much of certification courses?

Hi, Thanks for the video. How many seats are there in PGPX at IIM A? How much did u score in GMAT (as per the website, the avg GMAT is above 700)? Can a person with average academics (10th and +2 percentage in 60s and 70s apply at IIMA)?

140 seats... 710....Average academics can apply but will have to compensate with...higher Gmat or quality of work experience

Mam ....it great to listen that you so concerned about your son even he is in 9th class ...so for IIM A your son have to give the CAT exam which very competitive exam ....but a student who have strong math fundamental have good chance to crack it ..........so you should focus on the Maths for your son ...another point is Verbal means English ...so in CAT they Asked Verbal & LR DI ............so for verbal you need very strong reading skill ..........so it great your son is in 9th class pls give them some English book to read start with basic one slowly move to good author novels with Newspapers like Times of India than The Hindu ..........once his reading habit develop try to tell him read Newspaper of USA like the Newyorker or Economist ...it will way ahead preparation for CAT verbal ....another thing only CAT percentile not important to get call for IIM A .....your Kid should very strong 10th 12th Marks ...pls send him ICSE board School he will easily get good board marks as compare to CBSE or State board .......than send him for simple graduation like BSC Art etc where in 3 year he will only focus on CAT preparation no worry for graduation etc like in Engineering ...plus all these remedies ICSE than BSC Art kind of graduation make him a unique profile chance is vey high he will get call at 96 or 97 percentile ...if luck will favor than at 90 also but 10th 12t should be 80 80 ..........another thing like IIM A there are 10 top Notch institute have not much difference specially IIM B , IIM C , XLRI or FMS Delhi all gives same placements .................so for you fees of concern currently IIM A fees is 23 lakhs .......down the line 5years to 7 year it will touch 27 to 30 ...but no worries if you son will Get Any call from any 20 IIM .......... he will get loan from any bank very easily just to so the call letter .
