Great review. I'm meaning to get one of those, I have IINE's basic model, but sensitivity is not great.

I've got a few questions for you... Have you played on any of the more popular drums (e.g. TAIKOLLER, Taiko Force, Zhong Taiko)? I'm curious to know how this compares to those Did you run into any issues with dropped inputs when playing on console? I heard that was an issue someone ran into and am curious if that was just something with them. How's the sensitivity? Did you find yourself having to hit particularly hard compared to the modded Hori? Did you notice any dead spots? E.g. areas where the drum was noticeably less sensitive than the rest of the drum? Did you find yourself accidentally hitting the buttons a lot? Any idea if this drum has any sort of configuration options (e.g. sensitivity)? Thanks in advance, I know I'm asking a lot 😅

Excellent questions! Here are my answers: * I recently bought a second-hand Taikoforce LV5 but I haven’t picked it up yet. I’m planning on making a video comparing both or even the three drums soon. Other than that, I have only owned a Chinese knockoff, the Hori official drum and this IINE drum. * Not that I have noticed. I played some 8, 9 and 10 star oni songs in these last three days and so far so good, I even made a full combo on a song that I had been trying to FC for months with my Hori drum (less I got were 3 bads weeks ago). There are times when one note is not registered (I noticed that it was around 1 note every two songs), but I can’t 100% say that is a drop input, I think it’s just skill issues lol. * The sensitivity is great!! (Compared to the Hori drum). I lack strength in my arms because I never exercise and I must say that I hit it with what I consider my average strength and it registers the notes without issues. I played three oni songs consecutively that really took a toll on me when I used the Hori drum and, with this new drum, I only felt a little tired because I didn’t have to hit it like it owed me money. * I made some tests on calibrating mode and I had issues with the left kas on the really low left side area (at the height where the buttons are placed approx). I had to hit that area harder so that the kas could be registered. This issue doesn’t happen on the lower right side, nor on the upper sides. The dons were registered without complications in the whole center of the drum. * So far I haven’t hit any of the buttons. I think it would be a really rare situation because the drum is big enough so you have enough area to hit the dons and kas. Maybe if you play too far away from the drum to the point that you have to fully extend your arms, but I doubt anyone would play that way. * There’s no info about configuration options for Nintendo Switch on the user’s manual. There are configuration instructions if you want to play on PC, it basically says that you need to install Joy ToKey to change the button mapping, but no sensitivity customization options :( Not to be a pessimist, but there’s a possibility that some of my answers might change as time goes on. If something comes up I will update my review. If you have more questions or if an answer wasn’t clear enough (which I apologize beforehand) please let me know. Thanks for watching! Looking forward to your next stream!

@@jaztea22 That's the beauty of being a reviewer. Your perception can change over time as you learn/experience new things. And thanks for the info, this was quite useful! I'll be looking forward to seeing your next review 🙂 I'll try to get in a Taiko stream next week. It's definitely been a while since I've done Twitch stream 😅

how do you get your calibration dialed down like that? Recently I picked up a taikoller and realized how off my calibration is, and i’ve yet to get it in a good position where I can hit consistently and it makes me sad…

Hi! You can change the calibration settings in the "My Room" section if you're playing Rhythm Festival. It depends on the screen that you're using to play: if you use a TV you're going to have a bad time regardless of which drum you're using. The best thing is to use a low response time monitor. If it's not possible, try the calibration settings until you feel comfortable. I also have issues with positioning the drum, all my drums end up being either too low or too high and moving in all directions so it's a bit of a pain. Try stacking boxes or pillows for height adjustment and try to get a mat to keep it steady (still figuring out which one works for me). Besides that, how's the performance of the Taikoller? Let me know!

@@jaztea22 The taikoller is great! I have no complaints, although i'd like to get some new bachi in the future. and as for calibration, i've banged my head against the wall haha. I have an OLED tv so the response time is very good, it's just the audio that always lags. non optimal but if I plug in my headphones directly to the switch, i get INSTANT response time, so that will have to do for now.

Glad that you found a solution! I actually play with headphones because the drums are quite noisy hahaha. My smart tv is impossible to use for playing taiko due to the audio lag too so I understand. Cool! Enjoy your taikoller to the fullest! @@paulink

@@jaztea22 Yeah since im looking to get this mainly for tjaplayer3 and PS4. Looks like a really good drum though, I have been looking for one like this for AGES since I need a bigger drum that isnt too big and doesnt make insanely high pitch sounds that may piss off my mom or dad haha. Probably gonna get it somewhere around new years since i need to save up :v
