I was at IISc from 1978 to 1982 (B.E + M.E; ECE dept). I could recognize just one building, old Physics department. This building was actually in use (as Physics Dept) when I was at IISc. We used to enter by the main gate located opposite to BHEL. The first department build we used to see was Aeronautical Eng building. There used to be a small Gnat fighter plane exhibited next to the building. I was in H-20 for all the 5 years :-). There used to be only one restaurant; If I remember the correctly, it was called Astro. It used to be behind MIcro-Biology department and close to computer center where I used to live most of the time :-) We had DEC-1090 main computer at that time. It used to have core memory (magnetic memory) :-) Nice memories.

Everything is good about this campus... But a bipc student can't get into this campus after 12 standard.... That's the major drawback of this institute... Im a bipc student, all the courses in this institute related to biology are amazing. But being a biology student im not eligible for this institute, as maths is necessary....

No., You have to write GATE entrance exam with a very good rank (better be 1 or 2-digit rank). Other options are you must be an central government employee like (ISRO, Army etc,) and they should sponsor you.
