My son got seat offer letter at IISER Pune in round 1. Since he is now clear what course he wants to do, he has already taken admission in other institute and would be leaving this seat for other keen deserving candidates. Since most of the candidates would get clarity for their career path, there will definitely be fall in cut offs in coming rounds. Its good that IISER delayed its counselling. Wishing all the best to all kids here seeking admission in IISER. Its a very good institute for research aspirants❤.

It is actually not shocking at all and pretty much in line with my estimate. I will talk only about General category. Due to general increase in number of seats across all IISERs and IAT being the only channel of admission, the number of seats for general category in BS-MS course has gone up from 522 last year to 736 this year, which is about 41% increase. And if you see the increase in round-1 cutoff compared to last year, it is about avg 48%. I expect the final cutoff to go up to 5000-5200. Let's see...

I wanna ask a question that in my 12th marksheet (west bengal board) among all 6 subject score of mathematics was least , so for best 5 rule my computer science score was added ( two languages, physics, chemistry and computer science) instead of mathematics and this is greater than 60 percent. But i did not fail in mathematics and mathematics is still one of my compulsory subject, along with physics and chemistry ( officially written in my marksheet by board counselling) . If i add my mathematics score instead of computer science ( two languages, pcm ) this is also more than 60 percent. Will it create any problem in iat or nest counselling?
