IISSMD20: Keynote Address: Peter Maurer, President, International Committee of the Red Cross

On Saturday 5 December, Peter Maurer, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), delivered the Keynote Address at the IISS Manama Dialogue.
Mr Maurer addressed the multitude of critical humanitarian challenges the Middle East faces and emphasised the detrimental impact the COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing hostilities have had on efforts to provide humanitarian assistance and to improve the plight of vulnerable populations across the region.
