IISS Shangri-La Dialogue | Plenary 2: Enhancing Crisis Management Amid Rising Competition

While the US and China have sought to stabilise their bilateral relationship after heightened tensions in recent years, concerns in the region remain about continued great power competition and possible regional flashpoints. This session examined how regional countries could help ease tensions by implementing existing crisis management mechanisms or through the creation of new ones, including confidence building measures, risk reduction, or crisis communication channels.
