Most of the students are confused when it comes to choosing an Engineering college ( IIT or NIT or IIIT or BITS or any other college). This video will try to help you in this direction.

I have a doubt regarding my Son is getting IIT Bombay Civil based on 2231 rank in JEE ADVANCE, IIT Hyderabad Computer engg based on his Rank in JEE Mains 318 & BITS Goa Computer engg. Presently our preference is IIIT Hyderabad Computer engg, but sometimes it comes to mind that we are leaving IIT Bombay brand. Congratulations on your son's achievement !! Believe me, IIIT H is best in CSE, in case your son is interested in Computers. The faculty, Infrastructure, facility to support CSE is phenomenal. But he has to really work hard and try to get at least one certificate/course every semester and also plan well ahead after 4 years.

Check with NIT S if they have common placement. if yes , you can do coding and sit for IT companies too. Even big consulting companies pick students irrespective of the branch.

You are inclined towards iiit more. But thing is that iiit charges tremendous amount of fees which is beyond limit of many. For example my brother got 97+ persentile in jee mains and getting almost all iiit ( excluding Hyderabad banglore and allahabad) but we don't have that amount of money for his fees.

Yes, this is what most of the students do from non-computer branches. But work hard on coding also try to get at least one certificate each semester in IT skills. Also your communication skills. Do let me know in case any other info you need All the best

Sir iiit bhopal is a new iiit established in 2017. It doesn't have its own campus. But the placements in cse,ece,it bracnch are very good because iiit bhopal runs in manit bhopal which is a decent nit. Also my jee rank is not so high so I am confused, should I join iiit bhopal or not. Although I am very impressed by the placements in cse,ece,it.
