after years ive finaly understanded the basics of transistors the correct way.Theres no comparison to the way we did it in schools here in greece.It was only blaaablablabla and a bunch of math.. You are a honorouble person for doing this for free (as knowledge should be all over the world)

I'm so glad I watched this specific lecture. I always understood how to "solve" amplifier problems, but I never really understood the whole concept of "N" and "P" with the forward bias concepts until I watched this video. Good job :-) After watching all these lectures, I'll be ready for my certification early next year. And by the way, I'm writing this message from Miami, Florida.

Good video. And here I thought I understood the basics of transistors :-) Never realized how stupid I was on the direction of electron flow in transistors. Now I truly understand how the collector "pulls in" the electrons and creates a path to the load (speaker) for amplification. Two years of walking around stupid!!! Finally, I feel enlightened. No wonder India is creating so many engineers. With teachers like this I"m surprised they aren't leading the world right now.

in the Darlington circuit BEFORE he connects the base and the emitter with his hands the resistance is actually infinite because there is no wire there, so he actually decreased the resistance to a finite number when he used himself as a resistor :) hope this helps

the base region is very very thin . . .so it has very few depletion electrons to oppose the incoming ones from emitter. . .Again the biasing favours the electrons to go further to the collector. . . Some of the electrons do go down the Vcb supply. . . .but again as this region is very thin. . most electrons simply go across the collector region

Do most of the electrons move into the collector region because the voltage is higher over there than at base terminal, hence the attractive force is stronger at the collector region? How come electrons can move across junction BC? Don't the negative charges at the base side of the depletion region repel the electrons and prevent them from doing so? How come electrons leaving the Vcb supply don't get attracted to the positive voltage of the Vbe supply?

Can someone explain some questions to me? It's been a really long time and I still don't get how transistors work. He says that since the BC junction is of high resistance and a large current is flowing through it, voltage across BC is high. Does that mean voltage across BC is not a constant? Or is the voltage across BC still dependent on Vcb? How come base current constitutes only the electrons recombined with holes in the base region? Why can't other electrons leave via base terminal?

A transistor is a three terminal device. One terminal is called emitter, one collector and in between them is base. Now, during biasing the junction between emitter and base is made forward biased and the junction between collector and base is made reverse biased. My question is that if one of the junction of a transistor is reverse biased, how does the transistor allow current to flow through it because the reverse biased junction (diode) doesn't allow the current to flow through it? Plz... Answer My Question Sir I hav a doubt in it..
@ellipticality9 жыл бұрын
Eshwar Sai Srinivas You are right, it needs to be forward biased from base to emitter and also forward biased from collector to emitter. Otherwise it will not work.

I'm getting frustrated. I'm ashamed to say it's already been 1 month (although I don't study every single day of the month) since I've been attempting to understand transistors. Are the answers to my queries obvious? Because I seem to be the only one asking these same questions in the youtube tutorial videos on transistors like this one. So far I haven't gotten answers yet. So anyone who can answer my questions, please do so. I thank you in advance. My semester is starting and I'm worried.
