What is the role of cloned population in the crossover? How does the previously cloned population have an impact on the next crossover? While cloning is random, selection process only depends on the fitness function of a species and not on the current population of that species. So what is the use of cloning when we are not taking the size of the population of a species into account anywhere in the algorithm?
