This is the updated version on how to make your dead fog light housing a functioning 4th brake light with the iJDMTOY rear fog light conversion kit. I re-did this video using my friend Michael's tC after several owners reported having ABS and traction control light issues when installing the current kit because the wire colors didn't consistently match up from kit to kit.

Awesome instructional vid, Derrick! A few helpful things to add: iJDMtoy changed the bulb base, so it is now completely rubber rather than plastic (only need to push the bulb in, no twisting) and the bulb is NO LONGER REPLACEABLE. Also, for some reason I had to switch the Blue and Red wires to have mine fully working properly. This may have been an inconsistency with the manufacturer.

I will give you a heads up. We just had to swap out his bulb with my spare 7443 one because his failed prematurely.

That because you need to wear gloves when dealing with light bulbs. I just changed my lmao and back some light to led blue. It looks super nice

That's only with incandescent bulbs. You don't need to wear gloves with LED bulbs, though I do avoid touching the LEDs themselves.

you should, I brought a back up camera and I installed it myself, they wanted 350.00 to install it and I said you are crazy, try it on my own and it was not hard to do. I had to drill a hole in order to fit the little camera, I was scared to do so, but had no choice, now I have a back up camera working correctly and did not spend any money on labor.

I have a question I have a third light above my license plates . I used the as100a to make it lit, but it does not work. I guess because there is no bulb but seen videos and people just wired it and it works. Is a hardness with brown and blk wire. Any hints

No traction control problems but for some reason it stays on the bright mode, like it would if my foot was on the break but it’s not any idea why??

Try swapping the red and blue wires. Let me know if that fixes the issue.

Question!! ...My tc doesn't have this brake fog light at all ...looks like the previous owner broke it and took it out ..so there's a hole there...I been trying to buy a new one but all I can find is the wiring ...I was trying to buy from a used car but they told me they only sell it wit the whole bumper...if you know where to get ...let me know Thank you for you videos 🙏

Man, people are awful. Someone tried to steal my roof rack recently, but were thwarted by my locks. Yes, you'll need to rewire it again, but you may be able to just tap into the old harness as long as you solder the connections and use heat shrink tubing to protect it.

@@hoopernick3014 you probably have something wired wrong. Last time I saw this happen, the user had the wrong common ground wire hooked up to the white wire with black stripe. Reduce your connections to just the ground wire and one of the postive wires and test that. If it looks good, add in the other wire and test again.

Double check and confirm your common ground wire is correct.

@@ricanchulo1414 don't trust the wiring colors on fog light harness because I've seen them swapped around on the various installs I've done since then. There should be one wire on that harness that is the ground for both sets of LEDs. The easiest way to find it is to use a 9-volt battery. Try connecting one of the other wires to ground instead and see if you can make both sets of LEDs light up individually. Once you can do that, then you have found the common ground.

I don't know any 1st gen owners in my area, but if you can find a light that you can make work with your bumper, it's just a matter of checking which are the correct wires to tap into. The ground wire should still be white with a black stripe. It's just a matter of tracing the taillight and brake light positive wires and tapping into them.
