First cycling event of the year! Done some training prior to this event 🤭 Couple of refresher course but I guess I spoiled it 🤣
First mistake was to follow the front guys, their pace was super fast and in order for me to just to keep up with them, my heart goes boom! I only manage to stick to them for 7km, that’s it. Then a couple of us who drop, I tried following them but boy, their pace was fast too!
So my first 25-35km, I wasted to much energy, that makes me struggle on the second phase of the ride which is from Jelebu heading to Kongkoi. Though I manage to hitch on a train but again, I find it difficult to stick to them and once again got drop at 60km. Gotta take my last pack of energy gel to prevent cramp.
By the time I reach Kongkoi at the 75km mark, my legs are worn out, I couldn’t perform how I did during my training, I used most of my power earlier, struggling for sure but still manage to complete the reverse Peras climb without stopping.
Heading back, my Insta360 batt died, I manage to hitch on a guy, he’s strong! Still have the energy to pull us about 30-35km/h 🫡 Thanks for the ride sir!
Now to the finishing line was a pain! We have to climb towards it 🤣 Last kopek of energy went there!
Lesson learn, next time, follow the peloton which is your pace 😆 It was good experience, trying to follow the fast pace guys but I’m definitely not there yet. These guys are super fast! Time to step up my training plan.
