kronshtadt is not OP anymore, you can even kill it with a Heavy cruiser at a decent range. Gaijin fixed the armor or nerfed it (whatever you wanna call that) it is quite easy to kill now even at range and you can ammo rack it with a well placed shot as well

Yeah Kronshtadt isn't that great anymore at all. Used to be able to tank but it's mainly just a glass cannon. Excellent armament but 90% of your deaths are going to be a result of getting shell roomed instantly by most cruisers and all battleships. The shell rooms are very badly protected even when angled properly.

The armor seems to be acting strange as well. I’m consistently getting ammo racked by American 12 inch and German 11 inch at 15+km. This armor and shell issue is also effecting the tech tree Japanese BBs as well.

Agree. Especially Nassau and Kaiser are guilty of this. I get ammo racked by them from 12+km every so often. Which in the ships armor view should not be possible.

Currently in 10+ km diving shell is severe to make even American 8 inch to sink Scharnhorst and Hood by passing through unarmored part underwater. It is not good to fight in long range for now.

Yeah, main guns are questionable, but if you can’t really fight BBs you can farm heavy cruisers, you just need to perfectly land AP shells into their ammorack

So I think I know what the problem with the AP shell is. I believe they're swapped. I've noticed when using the main gun with SAP, the rounds are red - red is usually AP - while the AP rounds are green - green is usually SAP/HE. I think this is confirmed when using SAP in the secondaries - also green.

The dispersion of the guns is more of an issue then the damage in my opinion. With an expert level crew every barrage i see 8 shots going absolutely nowhere and only like 4 going for the spot i actually aim for. BUT if they all do connect i very often see devestating damage on Cruisers, if not an out right one shot, and significant crew damage on BB's. The shells don't seem to handle angled armour very well though.

The number of times I have been 1 shot in the Yamashiro is hilarious, the front magazine is just very unprotected. not to mention the lackluster belt armor.

the killing of JustinPlaysTV was prooobably the same HE bug that is like the only way I reliably kill Scharnhorsts in my Fuso/Ise, I've ammo racked a grand total of 7 Scharnhorsts of the hundreds I've faced, and only ONE of those was with a main battery AP shell, the other six were mysterious main calibre ammo rackings caused by 152mm HE shells hitting near the magazines (in a vertical line)

⁠​⁠@@AusAlb fair pont, you are probably better off with any of the 2 cruisers Japan has. The royal navy however lacks a good cruiser so the most viable choice there is to get the Iron Duke which is actually great

⁠@@AusAlb is it then? I don’t own it, only my friend does. I never really see him do well in it (maybe just skill issue xd). The only problem he has with it is that it doesn’t have a high pen round but I guess it is compensated by the reload and that it sits at 5.7 which is forgiving.

I didn't played real naval much since last update as I was grinding the Tog II and played the Sub event. But it seems the HE bug that was fixed is back. In the 10 game I played in BB I killed 3 time other BBs with detonation by using HE-VT 5 inch shells and also died 2 time by HE 5 inch and 6 inch shells.

I believe there's an armor bug currently that's doing some very weird things. You can see it in the protection analysis. A thread on the forums pointed out how at some angles Scharnhorst is reporting over 1700mm of armor at the B turret barbette. After just checking right now, SMS Von Der Tann has a similar thing, with the main belt showing 900+mm of protection abeam the forward wing turret, and turret faces of 507mm. Cemented armor has an RHA equivalent multiplier of 1.1, but that doesn't math out when the turret face is only 230mm. From what I can suss out, for some reason the game is calculating all the armor in the path of the shell to determine whether or not it's going to penetrate. I experienced this myself in doing a little testing, where in a knife fight with a Kronshtadt, I could not penetrate the turret face at 2km, and indeed, the protection analysis has an armor value of 852mm for the 305mm of armor on the turret face. This bug does not appear to be present on cruisers, at least not the ones I've checked.

@@Ming-Chan Kind of. I don't think it's because of weirdly overlapping armor, just all the layers across the ship being counted at the face. But that's not quite what it's doing either. Just the barbette on Scharnhorst (350mm) says it has equivalent protection of 780mm at 0 degrees. Something is definitely acting weird.

@@Napalmratte Well, Gaijin is best at being consistent in their inconsistency. After playing around in the test drive though so I could more adequately control what was happening and...it's weird. I was shooting specifically at the barbettes on the North Dakota, at 2km, and the first couple shots would turn the elevator yellow, but the shells didn't seem to actually pen. Given the ND's 254mm barbettes, I should have had no problem going through them.

I have it and like it but it struggles so much against other battle ships but but up against heavy cruisers it’s pretty good I’ve been able to pick off those playing prinz eugen and USS Des Moines with just one salvo

I have the impression that the Yamashiro is resisting more damage after the "Seek & Destroy" update. It was frustrating to explode on the first shot. Maybe someone can confirm this impression for me?

I have it and I think they have. BUT STAY AWAY FROM ENEMY BATTLESHIPS! You can not tank anything from them and you mostly get ammo racked directly! But it nukes everything else if you hit

Looks like they nerfed the shell to put that premium at 6.7 (and not make it 7.0). When they release higher BR ships, they might fix this and put this ship at 7.0. Very shady practice, as usual.
