A lot of Japanese words are actually English loan words, so it's sometimes fairly obvious what a Japanese word is supposed to mean. For example, "bideo gêmu" is "video game", "hanbâgâ" is "hamburger", "baiorin" is "violin" and "kare" is "curry".

Shigeru Miyamoto's mind blows my mind. Think about this... He created Super Mario Bros, one of the greatest games of the 1980s. And then, 20 years later, he creates Super Mario Galaxy, one of the greatest games of the 2000s. And then you have the Zelda games... I mean, what the hell... So much genius.

To me, it looks like Miyamoto understands English based on some of his reactions and fast responses, but I don't think he can speak it, either that or he prefers to speak Japanese. I really can't tell.

I think he's (almost) perfectly able to understand english. Watching a talk from '99 you'll see he wasn't far away from speaking it fluently too. But of course speaking japanese is way easier for japanese people. But by now he probably could conversate in english without any big problems

body language is universal no matter what language other speaks to you through body language anyone can nod in yes or no no matter what language that other person speaks just listen carefuly what he says and you might understand what he says

What I meant to say was that all you've seem to do in that whole video is "act" instead of "do" as if this was all just talked over and over again before recording, like you'd had a script to do instead of just interviewing out of the blue. It just seemed so pressed. Miyamoto on the other hand looked so calm, friendly and just more appealing to listen to. Yes I'm fully aware that this man has been having interview even before I was even born back in 1993 but you.. I could just pick any random video out of youtube with a girl talking over something and it wouldn't make any difference. It's the perfectionism that disturbs me. You ARE allowed to make some little mistakes. Would've been funny if you were really excited to sit beside this important man and not like every other reporter on random news channel acting like "yeh, he's probably important but I just do this because money and fanbase.." Even when he gave you a personaly signed DS you just looked like.. acting. It took all the fun and excitement out of it. I mean I personally would've hugged him and jump around like an idiot. What I felt from you was unease and no excitement at all as if you wouldn't know what worth this weights.
