Great hack. I’ve had this unit for roughly a year and a half now. I’ve found that filling it up to about the 7 liter mark helps generate more consistent foam and better pressure

Thanks, also I seen reviews of the new IK Pro 12 with the integrated electric pump and the reviews say the pump dies fast. I still stand by my hack being better in terms of durability and affordability.

Awesome hack with the portable air compressor ..... But instead of buying the IK sprayer, Couldn't you do this with any other Weed sprayer as you would need to install a Shrader valve and some magnets ?

Where did you find the little air Compressor and what is the name of it? I got the pro 12 and I like it but only down fall so the 58psi don’t last long so you have to pump or air it up a lot.

This is ingenious. I'm just now seeing this and not that IK has introduced the smaller units with valves this would go great with those. Also you could probably use velcro and it would work just as well as the magnets.

Sick hack for someone who doesn’t have a pressure washer. At the end, I see you have a pressure washer, so why not just get a $25 foam cannon and do a better job? THEN, I would take your spray hack and fill it with distilled water, at the end of your rinse, take 2-3 gallons and do a final rinse using distilled. I use a worx “pressure washer” in this way, I hate water spots!!! (Now everyone makes these battery operated “pressure washers” but when I did mine like 3-4 years ago, worx was the only one……also, they aren’t “high pressure”).

Yes I have left soap for 4-6 weeks and still works fine.. the only thing I would not leave inside is wheel cleaner or any acid base products but soap is ok.

Yes you can.. works better with thinner liquids, I seen people use it with disinfectants liquids and as a Bug sprayer

Are you referring to the IK filter? What soap or chemicals are you using? Are you using clean water? I have used about 2 filters in 1 year it shouldn’t get dirty so soon.

yes the ik filter seems to get dirty when i throw foam out on the frist 2 trys then i open it and the filter has dirt. I cleaned it off properly how it says in yhe manual book but it still gets dirty i usually use reset carpro or gyeon bathe

I used these broken in half and super glued to the IK.. be careful these magnets are aggressively strong, they will crack if you snap them together. I mean, this is an absolutely clever smart idea, very well done bro, and to be honest with you, I don’t really think this will void any warranty on the foamer, you are simply connecting a battery operated compressor, remember the unit has its own valve to prevent over pressure. Thanks for sharing!

just curious .. why dont you just use a foam cannon with a soap that neutralizes/lowers the PH levels??? if you are worried about water spots have you tried the High Flow RV water filter you can pick one up for 20$ at Walmart. i use it on my 2.4gpm pressure washer and i have no issues even working in the sun.

Well done on hacking your unit to keep the pressure up during your whole detail. That's awesome. I'm a new beat all this though and don't still understand how to hack this myself. Would you consider doing the video specifically showing us how to set it up? I mean are you saying that the hack is just attaching the magnet and the air compressor and then you just attach the compressor as you normally would? I have yet to take my foamer out of the box so I'll very much green under the gills. And you should put up a purchase link so we can support your channel. I will probably buy that many compressor when I get some extra ca$h.

Hello @lockergr I appreciate the support and you are correct just place magnets on the IK (I forgot to mention you must superglue the magnets) and attach the mini compressor and connect it to the IK valve it’s fairly simple but I will try to make a video on just the hack soon. I will pin this comment since I did forget to mention the magnets must be superglued. Regarding links on my channel I cannot monetize my channel yet, but I will have the links on the description up soon. I noticed the Mini Compressor went up in price I purchased it for $30ish and it is now 46-58$ it’s a good quality compressor well worth it.

These are very high quality units I have left car soap for 6-8 weeks with about 20psi in the unit and it still worked very good after. I wouldn’t recommend but that was my accidental discovery that I can share, best to empty and let the air out after each use.

A lot of time spent to foam the car when you could have just used a foam cannon on your pressure washer. This foamer is good for wheels since it's much smaller and you won't need to swap out cannons on the pressure washer

The entire reason for foaming is to allow the foam to lift particulate matter from the car's surface and carry it away as it drips off. The foam needs dwell time to do this. The thin foam produced by the orange tip prevents this from happening, thus it is ineffective. Orange tip-maybe good for immediate washing with a mitt but definitely the wrong choice for a foaming application. Mini compressor hack....genius.

Absolutely correct however this car was not that dirty and it still has some ceramic life left on the paint so it cleans easier. The soap can be thick with the orange too, you just have to foam slower. Thanks for watching
