I love how the foam is sliding off almost like snow off of a roof. Big fan of the channel. I’m building a mobile detailing buisness, and I have been purchasing IK bottles over the more expensive OG bottles.. and love the quality, I just haven’t upgraded to a large pump sprayer yet.

I tried the OG bottles and the spray heads just didn’t hold up to the chemicals. I love IK sprayers and foamers. I have not tried the smaller trigger sprayers yet. DlY Detail includes very good spray heads with their products so I use those.

Great alternative Keav. All the work you put into your storage cabinets and overhead door. It is a shme to see all that get wet. Hose end rinse should do you just fine. Do not think your cars get dirty enough to need a pressure washer inside the garage. Thanks for sharing with us.

Great and objective video. I still have 2 queries though. 1. How long does it take to pump the washer manually to create sufficient pressure 2. Did you have to re pump again to maintain pressure

If you fill with the amount of liquid I had and you filled with air to full pressure it will last the whole car. Towards the end the spray will not be as good which is why I now prefer a battery powered inflators that keeps it full the whole time giving max spray. I am unsure how many manual pumps as I have not done it that way before.

I contacted IK about the issue you were having with it spitting. They told me it’s because Rinseless wasn’t specifically made to foam. As soon as I used Suds in it, it stopped spitting. Still works even when spitting on Rinseless just it’s trying to make foam on a something that isn’t specifically a foaming product.

I think differently, I feel like it can replace the foam cannon on day to day cleanup and maintenance washes, 90% of what we usually do. I have bought one recently and have no regrets. Since I live in an apartment complex I’m not even allowed to have any water drop spilled anywhere due to internal regulations and blah blah blah (you better not skip the condo fees or they will eventually get you evicted, right?), so I made a mobile setup with a cordless pressure washer and this sprayer, plus I also followed your recommendations in the other video and added a handheld air compressor to the unit, keeping like 47-56psi the entire time for great foam. My BMW is always shining! My only regret is not doing it sooner. I noticed the dilution ratios change quite a bit, like I’d never do 10 to 1 or stronger as this does not add any water in the foaming process, so for 1 gallon or something I’d do maybe 100 to 1, 50 to 1, and so on. Greetings from Brazil (and soon to be from the USA as I’m moving up there next year 😊)

Awesome! Good luck on the move to the U.S. I have been using it to replace the foam cannon most of the time. I still do foam cannon every now and then as it’s just so fun. I understand being in a condo that’s hard to do. Portable pressure washers are great for that. Rinseless wash is another great way for a condo.

looks like a excellent garage method... im interested to see if you have issues maintaining the foamer itself... i bought a smaller ikfoamer a few years ago... wanted to use it for brake buster applications... i could never get it to consistently work... it was always clogging, and it was so frustrating....

I will for sure be trying all kind of methods. Did changing out the filters help? I know high alkaline products will kill a lot of sprayers. I plan to start doing an update video every few months updating on the products I have reviewed over that time. Changes I have made, etc.

When you have time check out the channel called DetailKegs. The premise is Dave the creator uses air pressurized kegs: he’s sells 1.75, 3 ,5 and even 10 gallon size kegs to clean planes, boats, snow movers for ski resorts. Dave is based in Utah. His videos are eye opening 👍. I have the ik pro12 but I also now use a 3 gallon Air pressurized keg👍

if you don't finish using all of the soap in the ik sprayer, can you keep the soap stored in the sprayer after releasing all of the pressure and rinsed out the hose

Yes, but depends how long. Soap will mold at some point and chemicals will separate from the water. I always keep them stored in the container after cleaning out the hose.l for weeks at a time.

I can see this for the mobile guys that are on a budget but can it replace the good old foam cannon, probably not. IK definitely makes great products. I can see this when applying Wheel Cleaner or ironx when I want to decon the car.

It is for sure a product for certain situations. If outside or not wanting a lot of overspray when indoors then this might help. I think though for me inside I would gravitate toward a hose end foamer like the gilmour probably.

hey Keav found you on DIY, some great stuff in your Videos does it matter your cars a re wrapped for would the IK Sprayer work differently on normal paint

It will work exactly the same. This wrap is ceramic coated as well so the behavior is the same as paint. You just really can’t polish this satin color much or you’ll turn it into gloss. I think it’s pretty good for that if it’s a Rinseless that can foam like DIY Detail. Others the Multi Pro 12 might be better, but the foam one should work at least that way you can use it for other things as well. I like the Fanttik NB8 for Rinseless washes amzn.to/3zxH6ea

Hey keav. I love your videos. Love how enthusiastic you are in trying out and reviewing multiple stuffs. Now i know what hose to buy, garden hose etc. Im just saying this because this is my first time commenting and i appreciate your work. Also, Do you think its possible to lock the air compressor on the schrader valve and set it to auto-stop on a certain psi (in this case 60psi) and auto start if it gets lower than 60psi (i don't even know if air compressors can do that, because i dont have one) and use the 6meter ik hose, so you just put it on one spot and dont have to move it around the car because the 6meter hose is long enough to go around the whole car. Is that possible? Edit: Im not talking about the portable battery powered air compressor.

That’s a good question I don’t know of anything to set a stop and start to fill the IK with air from the compressor. Mine you can set when the compressor fills itself stop and start. I just use a digital gauge and stop when it gets full. Battery inflator is the only way I know to get auto stop, but there is no auto start unless you get e foam pro compressor they sell. I have that and it is really good just expensive.

It’s a great solution for rinseless. It can’t compare to a foam gun though. Foam gun is easier to cover the car and just better dwelling consistency. One thing I started to notice is this creates some mist and you can breathe in those chemicals while in the garage.

Possibly the connection of the siphon tube to the top. Mine sputters in the first minute or so of operation as the air gets cleared out and pressure it built up. What siphon are you using? Possibly the dilution is too much and a more wet foam one is needed.

Very different as the foam cannon is mixing what is in the container with a lot of water. Most foam cannons are between 10 and 15 to 1 on top of the dilution in the foam cannon. I tend to use a higher dilution in IK as well to get better foam.

All valid points just depends most detailer would have compressed air, but a lot of homeowners do not. You can fill it with just a tire inflator though lots of people have those. That’s what the battery pack is.

I also live in an apartment complex where washing cars isn’t allowed. I really think these don't have enough pressure for any type of rinsing of foam or chemicals. I do think you should look into Detail Kegs. they hold lots of pressure and can be up to 200 PSI or more of pressure. Portable pressure washers such as the Ryobi 600 EZ clean are a good choice as well using buckets of water. A lot of mobile detailers are using rinseless products as well that will help with efficiency. I'm not well versed in the mobile detailing community when it comes to doing things in volume. It's easy for me to sometimes to say something will work, but I don't have that experience to say for sure. I know a lot in the industry use these for application of chemicals though.

I actually like it. I have gotten tired of pumping up my Roundup sprayer every 10 minutes. I've always wondered if someone made a sprayer that could be filled with air using a compressor. And, VOILA!! Keav comes through. I could see this used for spraying your garage doors, house siding, windows, patio, walkways, etc. I don't have an indoor setup like you so, I can't do "rinseless washes." But, like those battery-powered spray bottles, this sprayer could be very useful.👍

I literally made my own sprayer bought a big enough sprayer from home hardware then drill a hole and add the air inlet to it so now I'm using my air compressor..... but 😆 this is the tricky part you gotta pump it up first with your hands till you can't go anymore then get yourself a pressure gage that attracts to the air compressor hose.... so after the first pump by hand and testing the psi you know exactly how much psi you need. So now everytime you fill it you using the pressure gage on the air compressor hose my sprayer take 60 psi and I'm loving it

The center section with the handle you use to pump air unscrews to allow you to add the water and chemicals. Counterclockwise loosens it and it can be tough at times as it seals really good. Might have to hold it down while you unscrew it.

Is the dilution ratio different for every soap or per the IK Foam Pro 12? If I was using CG Watermelon snow foam or sudpreme wash and wax is the ratio the same? I feel like Im going to use the wrong amount.

It would be different for every soap my advice is use whatever they describe for the wash bucket. Use that ratio and if not foamy enough add some more. If it’s snow foam or car shampoo a little more won’t hurt. Using chemicals such as all purpose cleaner is when the ratios really matter.

I really love the IK foamers but I don't use them in a manner that completely justifies the price. 9/10 times I'm just foaming the wheels and tires or bottom panels as a pre-wash and I just can't bring myself to spring for the foam pro 12, but the other little one doesn't really hold enough to make it worth using in my specific cases.

There's definitely a lot of uses for them and I love the small IK I have, but I also have the ability to use a pressure washer whenever and all that so for me I just can't justify spending the money on a foam pro 12 even though I really want one. I still have a bigger foam sprayer that I've put a Schrader valve on that does the jobs I need it for just fine, but it's nowhere near as nice as the IK foamers. I did randomly find a foaming sprayer from a place called Sprayers plus that looks somewhat promising though and I may snag one just to try it out and see how it does compared to the foam pro 12.

For $115 you can have an IK foam 12 Cannon, but you have to use a lot of back breaking work to pump it up. Now for those people who are about to say oh well, it has a Schrader valve that you can put air into it... Okay then you're telling me that you also have another machine that cost a lot of money to run air into a tank essentially??? Lol So this product is for someone who doesn't have access to any of those tools and also probably lives in an apartment. Which was what I did before I bought a house. For $180 you can buy an AR clean pressure washer that's designed for car washing. So you mean to tell me you can't save an extra $60 to buy an actual pressure washer? Now I understand that in order to do achieve the same results, in other words, phone cannon versus foam cannon with a fresh washer. You would also have to buy a foam cannon as well. But you can get a decent one for 20 bucks.

We all have our opinions on it, but IK just came out with a battery powered attachment that keeps the air pressure as you spray, but of course that is $155. IK Foam Pro 12 is $100 if you use my code so that saves $15. A lot of us have air compressors and I never said this is a better option than a pressure washer and foam cannon. I was showing this as an option of washing indoors and wanting to limit overspray and mist. Even then like I said in the video it might not be the best option. This is the reason I do reviews is you can see without paying how it works and what all is involved. I even say in the video so way I am pumping that thing. 😂

But sometimes when you see reviews they like to not mention negative aspects because a lot of it is sponsored and they sent it to you to review. That way it's not coming out of your product which means it's kind of a biased review. However, nonetheless, if your audience can attest to that that all of them and when I mean all of them, a mass majority of your audience all can say that they have air compressors then that's one thing that's your audience. But since this is a video on KZbin, a lot of people have access to watching reviews and I know you probably had mentioned a couple of those things in there. But I'm also commenting for the mass majority that are going to look at this video and might not want to watch the entire thing and also fall in the same category as me. At the end of the day if you live in an apartment by an IK foam cannon If not, don't even worry about it because it's still cheaper to own a pressure washer 🤷 And I really don't see the aspect of overspray with mist. You're inside of a garage. Anything you have that's laying out in the garage should be able to get wet and can get wet lol so that point as an argument is invalid in my honest opinion haha

I however don’t agree on the misting as you have to have worked in that environment to know what it’s like. The humidity that a pressure washer creates in an enclosed environment is crazy. Even with a good humidifier it takes a full day to get back toward 40% humidity. Gets real hot real quick and even though everything can get wet you don’t want it to sit in wet forever if you can avoid it especially getting foam soap all over stuff.

I think you could use this at any level of dirt if you were doing a contact wash. If only doing a foam and pressure rinse the foam cannons soap is so much thicker to help with the dirt. For sure cannot replace one, but it works if your situation doesn't allow a foam cannon or you can't afford all of that.

Done that already to this one and the smaller Ik. I also have the e foam inflator for IK too. It was in the plans already when I filmed this. Great minds think alike! 🤣

I think the super wide spray pattern is what kills it for me, unfortunately. It's not that it's necessarily a bad thing, it's just that I PERSONALLY don't like that and the way it affects the density/concentration of foam on the paint.

I don’t like it either. Even with a foam cannon I prefer no more than a 2 foot spray pattern usually less than that. It’s easier to get coverage. I will be trying different methods to change up the pattern. If any of them work I will be making a video on it.

@@xipalips I have found with this foamer it’s easier to cover with less overspray to have it horizontal. Easier to sweep and keep most of the product on the car and not fling in the air.

It's a nice solution but not worth the price tag for weekend warriors and enthusiasts.

All depends on your situation, but agreed not for most that Wash outside. Good solution for apartments or water restrictions. Some might find it a cheaper solution with a water hose than buying a pressure washer and foam cannon.
