Can you hear all the rattling on the inside?
@robertionescu_9 ай бұрын
Did you had success by adjusting the fit in the end? I have the same problem with them and I already have the plastic version of it...
@maxdexpeditions9 ай бұрын
Yes, I did. I installed the hook angled away from the latch so both pull away, making a tighter latch. It's impossible to eliminate all the noises, especially in a mount with moving parts. But I got it dialed down so I could barely hear it in the vehicle on rough terrain. I also found out that some of the noise is coming from my roof rack with all the bolts and nuts. I tightened everything and applied lithium grease.
@michaelavdalis438211 ай бұрын
Hi are you happy with quick release brackets would you recommend buying them what are the two rattly noisy can you adjust the rattles
@maxdexpeditions11 ай бұрын
Hello. Yes. I am happy and still use the quick-release mounts because we like using the table under the rack. I Definitely would recommend it. It’s impossible to eliminate all the noise since there are too many moving parts. But I got it dialed, that I barely hear it in the cab with windows down. I also found that some of the rattle is coming from the roof rack. I tightened the bolts and applied some lithium grease. Angle the mounting feet on your tent when you install it so it will make a tighter pull for the hooks. Take care

Hi and thanks, MaxD Expeditions for sharing. Indeed, I sometimes see some well-made products that do not come with an applicable mount for our needs. Hello, noob here but I have a question. I recently just purchased the similar set up as yours: ikamper 2.0 and front runner slimlime full rack with table that can be stored right under the rack. I am looking at the front runner quick release too. Question is besides the quick release kit, do I need to purchase anything else to be able to mount it with my ikamper 2.0? I hope to hear from you. Thanks! 😊
@maxdexpeditions2 жыл бұрын
Hello, thank you for stopping by, Mark. We are no experts. If you have the same Ikamper just like us- MINI 2.0 or 3.0 version, you don't need additional support for the quick-release mount. I know these because I called frontrunner and was told I don't need any additional hardware. But, if you have the regular 2.0 (not the mini version), then it is best to contact frontrunner.

So how do you like it now? Were you able to adjust enough to reduce rattles?
@maxdexpeditions Жыл бұрын
We still like it and have been traveling around with this setup since. I have re-adjusted it by installing the mount on the RTT on a slight angle so that the hook pulls away from the latch creating a tighter latch. Rattles have significantly been minimized, especially off-road.

Hi, Has Front Runner said anything about fixing the rattle?
@maxdexpeditions Жыл бұрын
Hello. No, I did not contact them. Some customers did in the past, and I think they blamed it on installation. Too many moving parts -there's always room for rattle imo. Mine does not rattle anymore, even offroad. If it does, I can’t hear it. Slight whistling at highway speeds, but that’s a different issue. What I did was I reinstalled and angled the mounts away from the hooks. I also found that the rack also creates the rattle/ creek in the video, so I re-tightened those and applied fluid film on the bolts.
