Nice video. We have a Smittybilt Overlander and will be taking ownership of the iKamper X2 on Monday to mount on our 200 Series LC. Looking forward to trying it out comparatively, as our current tent is not as convenient to set up and take down. I'm also looking forward to the streamlined profile that this RTT provides. I am curious as to the lowest temps that you have camped in this tent, the rating of your sleeping bag, and whether or not you feel like adding the available insulation tent would be a benefit. Thanks and provide updates as you camp more!

You can also buy a winter lining for inside a tent I live in Canada and I have a winter lining in mine as the temperatures can sometimes drop to below -30 here

Great looking tent. My concern would be the wind. When it’s windy, I point my car into the wind. With an AluCab tent, both my car and my tent points aerodynamically in the same direction. In this tent, I would park the car in a way the clamshell tent points into the wind but then the wind would blow sideways on the car. I believe that would shake the car. Those are just my thoughts. Looking forward to your video once you had your first storm. If I am honest, in storms, I have to say I don’t open my tent, I just sleep on the driver seat.

There are also tailgate storage options for jerrycans too that could work for you

"See lions walking around the camp site". Yeah we don't have that problem here in the states where I camp. It's usually just trash pandas 🐼 and deer 🦌.

Great review, we have been trying to trouble shoot our Skycamp 2.0. Our tent doesn’t want close with only the factory mattress. You can close yours with all of the bedding in it. We looked closely at your video and we notice a lot of subtle differences between your 2.0 and our 2.0. I don’t know if maybe it’s because we are in different countries but for instance we don’t have those extra bars running across the roof. Our zippers look different we didn’t see your side and center straps-and a few other subtle differences. I’ve heard that there is a V1 and 2 different V2.0. Interesting. If you are interested in taking a closer look I’ll post the links to our videos. Our you can just check out our channel. We aren’t trying to promote ourselves on your channel but we really want you to take a close look at our tent vs yours and maybe share your thoughts. Thanks.
@EdwardBath3 жыл бұрын
Hey guys! Thank you for the complement 🙌 as far as I know mine is not the SkyCamp 2.0, I could be wrong though, please could you post the link to your channel so I can checkout the differences, thanks 🙌🙌

kzbin.info/www/bejne/hKndaWOvpJ2aicU This is us trying to figure out why our tent won’t close. This one has better shots of the interior of the tent.
@KRTLyfe3 жыл бұрын
The things we notice is yours didn’t seem to have straps on the side and center. Yours had an extra bar or bars going over the top. The window flys are made different ours has a brass washer in it your has a fabric loop. The biggest difference is you can close yours with everything in it. We can barely close ours with only the mattress. Thanks for taking the time to help us out again we sincerely appreciate it.
@EdwardBath3 жыл бұрын
Hey guys! So yours is the SkyCamp 4x (the 4 sleeper) this means you can’t keep any bedding inside because the floor folds in whereas mine is only a 2 sleeper with no fold out floor, hence why I can keep my bedding inside 💪🙌

Can you put a 270-degree Awning with an ikamper tent?
@EdwardBath3 жыл бұрын
Yes you can, just make sure you get the low mount awning brackets

R40K for a tent! This is the best tent on the markert but I can't justify the price. The price is just insane.
@EdwardBath3 жыл бұрын
It is very pricey but not that much more than the competitors, remembering that these tents are also imported and not produced locally. I agree it’s very pricey but you get what you pay for 🙌

How does it compare to the Bundutop?
@EdwardBath3 жыл бұрын
I have never used the Bundutop so I can’t really compare it. The Bundutop is electric which is lekker but very high profile on the vehicle which would compromise the aerodynamics considerably. That’s another reason why I prefer the ikamper, the low profile makes a big difference

But can you drive into a mall carpark without hitting those irritating height bars with it on the roof. You have to re-supply at some point!!!!
@EdwardBath3 жыл бұрын
Haha definitely not Bob😂 those height restrictions are very annoying! I completely agree, you definitely need to re-supply but I would rather do it less often 🙌
