Very informative, thanks for this. Just wondering, why you don't use the original racks which are integrated on the roof rails? It's very easy to set them up and you would also save some height and wind resistance I guess. I'm thinking about buying Outback in future so I'm collecting some information about the overlanding stuff. Cheers and save trips, Martin

Thanks for nice video. Like to get one but to install without the setup like the garage and hoist to help as a woman that is a deal breaker.

Any thoughts on how having the skycamp on the roof has affected wind noise while driving? Or how having that weight up top affecys driving performance on and off road?

You could adjust the height setting for your boot so it doesnt go as high, giving more clearance to move the tent back a bit

That's true, and I tried that. But it didn't help a lot if I still wanted the hatch to open high enough so I can easily get stuff in and out of the car. Actually I have to adjust the opening height already when the tent is up so the hatch won't hit the tension poles

Out of curiosity, where is that campsite in BC?
@MartinKnauber8 ай бұрын
There are 6 different campsites in this video, all of them in BC except the one at 0:47, which is in Montana on the Missouri River. All the others are in BC, most of them secret spots 😉 so I can’t tell, … but if someone makes a correct guess in the comments I’ll confirm where it is.

Why do you have to put crossbars if the car already have it?
@ClanShock90724 күн бұрын
Wilderness model does not come with crossbars.

You also have to understand he probably knows shortcuts and ways to skirt the system to get the same results asking him what he's doing and why he's not doing stuff the guy would be holding a raw ribeye steak over his eye if that was me because I take things personal because I take so much pride in my work. Just stand over the guy's shoulder and asking him why he's not doing certain things for a portion of the price is kind of offensive. You want the Taj Mahal renovation for the homeless Tent City price. If it was me I would have silently filmed the job I would have paid him after the job to just interview on and play it over the video explain it because you're making money on the video and it's informative let's the man do is work and another thing you're cutting into his time every time you disrupt them the guy gave you a timeline of a day and every time you stop he's going to try to get it done in that day and you're ruining the chances of the not being any mistakes I can tell you right now they wouldn't let you stand over the guy's shoulders is at The Body Shop and if you did and you were allowed they would be compensated for it the longer this video goes on and I watch I realize by the time I was done that guy would be wrapped in a masking tape cocoon before I left
