The Jeep is looking great. It’s nice to have everything at your fingertips when you need it. Car camping is pretty much all I do these days. Do you ever use any kind of heat up in that tent? I’m still loving my Gazelle. I can put the buddy heater in there and it heats it up within five minutes. And what do you do for water for the dogs so that it doesn’t freeze? Do you have a heated bowl for them? Looks like it was a lovely trip. Cheers my friend.

Car camping is always fun!! I do have a diesel heater I use when it gets very cold. It's a bit more hassle to setup but it's a dry heat unlike the buddy heater. I find the buddy causes a lot of condensation. Did you find that also? Best wishes from Canada 🇨🇦

@@TheEmporiumOutdoors The buddy heater does cause a lot of condensation for sure. But if I only use it in 5 to 10 minute cycles it’s not too bad. Sometimes in the morning I’ll leave it on a little bit longer because it seems colder and that’s when I noticed the moisture in the air but for as little as I use it it’s not an issue.

I have a 22 jlu what's the Pioneer roof rack. I'm contemplating getting the exact same tent you have but everyone says they're next to impossible to mount on the Pioneer rack. A couple of pictures would be awesome

I do have another video with the mounting of the tent - Its very simple no modifications needed. Probably the easiest tent to mount on the Pioneer rack. The clamps fit between the longitude bars/strips, and clamps on the crossbars. With a couple of friends or a lift, you can mount it in 10 minutes tops 👍

Do the ikampers 3.0 brackets hit the top of the Jeeps roof? I will be installing my 3.0 ikamper on the pioneer system this week on a JLU. I would definitely go with a lift and 35s

It seems complicated but if you just use an iPad and follow along it's very simple. I bought the pre-assembled Pioneer Platform but if you have to assemble, I think there is another video - Good luck! 👍

Time to toss a Fiskars x11 into the Jeep, it’s a good wood splitter. I can see some advantages of having a rooftop tent. Right now, I have smaller tents I use for motorcycle/scooter camping. If I ever camped using my beetle again, I’d definitely get a larger three or four man tent. It’s nice to have the extra room of a larger tent. I don’t know if there’s a rooftop tent for my beetle.✌️🇺🇸🇨🇦🇬🇧✌️

Beetle camping!! I had you down more of a 1 ton truck guy 😄 I've been using my Big Agnus Copper Spur for motorcycle camping and that works well! They should make a RTT for the beetle and call it a the shell - Beetle shell 😆

With the Rhino Pioneer rack, it bold to the chassis and the roll bar, so it is rock solid and can carry much larger weights.

Hey! Can I ask how you mounted the ikamper to the rhino rack? I have the same Jeep JL with the same Rhnio Rack and was thinking of getting the Ikamper but was afraid that it would be hard to mount to the Rhino Rack Pioneer? Did you just use the 4 included clamps? Did you have to buy any assoreries from Rhino Rack to help with mounting it? I know they sell assessory bars (or cross bars) that can be attached to the rhino rack that i think would allow the clamps to work and they have a specific roof top tent accessory but that would make the tent stick up even higher so dont really want to do that. Really appreciate your feedback if possible! Also great video, looks like you have awesome content!

Thanks David - I've made some videos on the install if you search backwards. In summary with the Rhino Rack Pioneer rack installed the iKamper mounts up without any modification necessary. The 4 clamps slide fore and aft on rails on the tent to allow them to line up to the existing cross bars. You get a long Allen style wrench to close the clamps once it's in position. It took me less than 5 mins to get up on top and locked down securely. Note: I did find I got wind noise so I added some foam. iKamper does sell a wind deflector that I would recommend 👍 Email me if you have any specific questions 📧
