A "Cat 6" Ethernet cable available on Amazon. Any good? Well it's a cable that's apparently compliant with EN501, what could possibly go wrong? tinyurl.com/en501

This is the reason I stick with CPC and other reputable sources for such equipment, sure it may cost a little more but at least you know what you're getting.

Good cable should have the pairs twisted at different rates as that cuts down on pair crosstalk due to parasitic coupling.

Just like a cesspit, on amazon it's the crap that floats to the top. Anything decent quality is more expensive, so hardly anyone buys it and it sinks to the bottom where it rots

Then you get stuff like this cable that bucks the trend, because it's lousy quality for the price of a decent one.

@@AintBigAintClever That is a big problem and has been for years: rubbish with good stuff prices as people will buy on the operant assumption that it's not super stupid cheap so it must be better.

So I'm guessing Amazon will be taking the product off their website as it's not what it says it is. Right? Right?!

If enough people click the "Report an issue with this product" button and report it as not even complying with its own advert, let alone standards, then maybe. Searching online for "EN501 cable" reveals several cables apparently meeting this standard (Prysmian gets a pass as their datasheet refers to EN501 73; an extra space, not extra aluminium).

So many fake items on Amazon, like some "7AH" 18V pattern Dewalt batteries that I recently purchased. Inside were 10 18650's clearly marked 2.2Ah. 4.4Ah is a lot different to the claimed 7Ah. 🤦♂
