For everyone struggling with the lamp shade (like me), pay VERY special attention to which way the interlocking flaps go in. I have been struggling for DAYS to get the shade to look normal. After reversing the lock flaps to be on the outside (not the inside), it finally looks like a passable lamp shade. Also, if it keeps curling too much, curl it the other way around and just put it back in the box overnight. That also helped a lot.

The tip is useful. Thanks. IKEA should be sued for an article like this. Like sued in the way that it would known as the lamp flaw morons. The teenager that invented this should go back to school. Imagine, you struggled for days. Ridiculous. One time I lost 10 euros, that fell from the pocket. They were more useful than the money I spent on this. Yes, it's cheap, but it's totally wasteless.

@@Vindeirinho I agree %100. As a long term Ikea client who enjoys most of their products, this item shouldn't exist at all, and any designer who develloped this product must be fired, and the product should be delisted, and all the clients must be refunded!!! :)

mmm, I would disagree with you. It's a bit hard to figure out in the beginning. But once you understand the clip pattern, it's a piece of cake to get it assembled. You will thank IKEA for this wonderful product.

Yeah it's impossible if you don't follow steps...after wasting half hour realised locking is tricky...manual page 11 will solve ur problem. Carefully lock one by one...this will solve problem

the shade, it won't stay round, it curves in and detaches. I watched your video and aligned the 2 black arrows.

@@dominiqueguy9017 Well, you seem to be curving it in the wrong direction. Please flip the side that is exposed outside while curving it and it should attach properly. I also faced the same problem initially, but then I rolled it the other way around and it fit properly.

No, it's actually a good lamp. Just that main thing is a bit tricky to put together. I am getting the table lamp version of this soon. Will upload a better video covering just the shade assembly in that.

You skipped the most important step. You didn’t clearly say how you set up the shade.

Apologies for that. I think I might have skipped that part as it was difficult to get all of that in the video frame. But it's just simple clip on thing.

@@antonminyailo5976 For some reason seeing just the start of it allowed me to finish it in about 30 seconds after wasting 15-20 minutes trying to get the lampshade to fit around. Just clipping them in kind of did it for me. I'll admit, I came here to maybe see someone swear at the shade to share my frustration on how to put that part together. Then we had misplaced 2 of the 3 little bars and wasted another 15 minutes searching for them. We were SO close to finishing the lamp. It's up now and it's decent for a 10 euro floorlamp (including the LED bulb).

No, I don't think so. You won't get different shades on the Ikea website. You can make a custom one, but it will be too much of an effort.

Apologies for that. I think I might have skipped it as it was difficult to get that thing in the camera view. But it's just a click on thing. I agree that it's a bit tricky to get those locks attached. If it doesn't work when you are rolling the shade in one direction, try rolling it in the other direction. That worked for me.

Ikea recommends `E27 globe opal white`. And about lumens, for a cozy look, go for a mid range lumen bulb that will provide adequate light in your room. It will also not blow a lot of light. haha... It's irritating while assembling it. Just turn the shade cover the other way and try wrapping it with the circular clicking locks. It should work.
