Nice job. I just wish Ikea still made the Framsta frame and panels for behind a tv. They don't make them anymore, at least in the States.
@SwitchbackRacing12 жыл бұрын
The Besta combination was around £900. You spec it very much like a kitchen in that you select the carcass then choose the doors, drawers and drawer fronts. Adding the cost of lighting, wall fixings and cabling then it probably came in at just over £1k
@SwitchbackRacing11 жыл бұрын
It would depend on the spacing between the bracket fixings on the rear of your TV. The spacing on my 50" is 400mm x 400mm and the bracket was pretty much perfect. If it's any more than 450mm then I don't think it will fit. Thanks

Incloud Design Thanks a lot man! I didn't use Ikea's planner as like you say, it is a little limited. I designed it myself really, the Besta range is very much like buying a kitchen: You choose you carcass (size, colour etc..) then you choose the doors and legs you want. It's all on Ikea's website as individual items, they just show you some made up examples they think will be popular. Good luck with your project bud!

What is the height within the top shelves where you have your recievers, bluray player and what not. I am wondering if I could fit my xbox in that upper shelf or if I would have to go with the smaller bottom drawer to have more room on top. Like 3 inches? Please let me know I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Well done!!! We recently bought a house and it also needs a major tune-up, but only upstairs. Downstairs everything is pretty good, beside the usual small repairs (new, paint, new wallpaper, new lighting,... But upstairs is a real mess. It's very old fashioned (the layout, but it can be fixed with a little use of sweat), dividing walls are not set properly (crooked and some show cracks) and a proper bathroom is missing (there's only a toilet, that's it). The floor is not leveled out properly and some old crappy vinyl is put on top of it but all in different, non matching pieces (not really a priority, but you get my point). Also, there's no running hot water there, go figure. Kinda weird, since that upper part has been rented out for several years. o.O Showering was totally out of the question upstairs. The kitchen is in a pretty good state, old but the cabinets look good. They only need a good cleanup, a new paint job, a new top and some cool LED lighting to finish the job. Oh and not to forget (otherwise I would get slapped by the wife) a DIY kitchen island. ^^ Great job, buddy!

Each section is 600mm wide so the whole unit is 4.2m. It cost around £1000 for the whole unit including internal shelves, drawers, doors, hinges and lights and it's in as good condition now as it was when I built it

I am going to do my living room in a similar style and the laminate is still available in b&q although they have removed the caramel from the name its just called Dolce Walnut Effect Laminate Flooring £17 per sq meter. I seen very similar back panelling in my local IKEA at the weekend so they mist still make something like it.
