Ikea Blaliden Display Case Review

This display case is awesome. All of the cards are in Ultra Pro One Touch cases so they are UV protected (I would not recommend having loose cards in direct sunlight).

I doubt it. The sun is coming from the glass window from the house towards another glass window from the blaliden. At that point the uv from the sun doesn’t have the same effect anymore

Quick question, where did you find the holders for your Yugioh cards? Not the glass surrounding it but the prop that keeps them standing up.

Hello, I had assembled this display case a few days ago. I was wondering, do your glass shelves fit snug to the corner bits on all levels? The lower shelves seem a tad looser than what I expected although all the corners on the glass do sit. Meanwhile the top shelf fits the brackets as snug as possible.

Question? We’ve been putting ours together but are wondering if we should’ve removed black strips around the single glass at back. The corner things for shelves aren’t going in right and wondering if this is problem. We gave up for today. Hubby is 76 and I’m 65 with back issues, so we were tired after a few hours. Will start again in morning, but wondering if you could answer this question please? Any help appreciated.

Hey! Good question, I just looked at mine to see what you’re talking about. So the back glass panel does have 4 thin black strips that cover the sides. I did not remove them when I set this up. There are two small plastic pieces (almost like hooks) that get screwed in at the top inside to support the back glass panel and keep it up right. If the glass shelves are not laying flat, which I experienced when I first placed them inside, then most likely the corner edge pieces are not secured to the sides enough. The four small corner pieces on each shelf level hold together the square shape, so if they’re not in all the way, then the square glass shelfs won’t lay flat. It took multiple tries to get them in correctly, and I had a friend hold the frame wide enough for me to secure the corner pieces. Let me know if that’s helpful, and I can respond if you have more questions.

Thank you! It can. I have the cards in Ultra Pro One Touch cases which has UV protection. For me, it’s good enough and I haven’t seen any sun damage in the years. I would not recommended loose cards to be in direct sunlight, because they will get noticeably faded and can bend/warp as well.
