My husband and I have put together a ton of Ikea in the past 20 years or so and this is by far the hardest, harder than an actual Ikea hack with Malm King bed with DIY storage underneath and the Hemnes twin daybed 😆. Thank you for posting!!

the center beam that goes down the middle of the bed? (its called a "SKORVA") -- yes its supposed to be included but it comes separately on its own (not in any box). If they didn't deliver it with the bed, complain to Ikea. if you got a second hand bed unassembled and its missing, you can get a new one from IKEA for $15.

@CluelessDad9 ай бұрын
@@pabloconde4346 plenty durable. except for possibly the bottom of the drawers, if you step on them (as mentioned in the video). I had it for 2 years and no problems with durability. key factors - this version has no head board, you need to keep space to pull out the drawers on both sides, putting it together is the equivalent effort to assembling a bed frame and a set of drawers at the same time.

I had a problem connecting those 2 panels in 1.44min. The other panel won’t join because the double cam bolt is not long enough so it doesn’t stay together. Am I doing something wrong? On your video you didn’t have that issue…
@CluelessDad3 жыл бұрын
hmm. the only thing I could think of is to ask if you're using the right "cam lock nuts". There should be metal ones and plastic ones. (use the metal ones). assuming you got the right size fasteners in your pack, the only other thing you could try would be to loosen the nuts on both sides until its fit together and then try to tighten onto both ends, maybe the bolt is too far in on one side to get started on the other. good luck.

Ikea apparently will sell misc odds and ends like that if you ask the right person. (I've never tried but...) "Go to the returns or customer service desk in the IKEA store. They usually have bins filled with common parts. They're free. If you have a need for an uncommon part, then they have a number you can call or a website you can visit." That said, I think you could replace that particular part with something else, like a screw in hook or a nut and bolt with a big enough washer to overlap the slats...

Can this bed frame be attached to any headboard?
@CluelessDad3 жыл бұрын
Amazingly enough, I just checked on the instructions for assembling the headboard version -- it turns out that the headboard is completely disconnected from the bed. You're supposed to screw it into the wall, as it only leans against the wall on two legs. They don't show any fastening between the bed frame (same in this video) and the headboard. so its just placed next to it! I think you could find any other headboard and either wedge it between the bed frame and wall better yet, screw the headboard into the frame.
