Hello everyone! As my anime figure collection is growing and my leftover space is decreasing, I decided to buy 3 IKEA Detolf displaycases for my growing anime figure collection :)

Really awesome set up! Such a great idea to stack em on the kallax shelf too!! I've heard their detolfs have been hit or miss lately, since you got 3 of them, how'd it feel assembling them? Also, what was that display case you orginally had, with Asuka in it?

Hey sorry for my late reaction, I have been very busy lately :( I got the idea from someone on Reddit! It’s a great way to put every shelf on a more comfortable height to look at :) Building the first one was pretty hard. Getting the side panels and the back panel together with the clear plastic part was very annoying and required a certain technique to do it properly. I’m not even kidding if I tell you that the side panels on the 3 detolfs cost me around 40 minutes alone to install 😅 Also, the middle Detolf (compared to the lef and right) leans a bit more forward, not sure what I did wrong there but it doesn’t look completely symmetrical unfortunately. I think if you’re able to get a Detolf second hand it’s still a great display case and one of the better ones to get, but for me they were €90,00 per Detolf (Netherlands price) and that’s a bit too much in my opinion. But looking at other display cases they’re still priced relatively fair compared to some of the €500,00 - €1000,00 cases out there. Thank you for watching! ☺️

Your setup looks so clean! ❤ Though, don't you need to reinforce the Kallax shelf to avoid toppling? I saw a video from Battletide about raising Detolfs highlighting it.

Thank you so much 🤗 I was worried about that at first as well and I was also planning on actually reinforcing it with metal plates, but once everything was installed it felt very sturdy and secure to leave it like this, so I didn’t go through the trouble of reinforcing it afterwards. Maybe it will sag (a little) over the years and then I will need to install those plates, but for now it’s perfectly fine :)

Nice display. Are you also gonna be putting leds in your detolf?

Thanks! I am still looking for the right lights to put into the Detolfs, as I really dislike the ‘dots’ some people have with their lighting setup. I know I need a diffuser for that but I haven’t found the right leds and diffusers yet. It’s coming in the future for sure though!

would you recommend the black or white detolf ones? also when did you get your Megumin figure? yours's seems to be the non-defected ones, Im kindda jelous D:

I would get the color which fits the room you put them in the best. Since my room is very light, I went for the white ones. It’s mostly personal taste since black could be a nice contrast in a way :) I got Megumin around 10 months ago I think. I ordered her from AmiAmi back then! There’s also an unboxing for her on my channel if you want to see some close ups. I was very scared because of all the issues around her, but luckily I got a good one!

How is your Kallax shelf holding up with the weight of all 3 Detolfs on it? Detolfs are pretty heavy and I am not sure the kallax shelf is rated for that much weight. Just curious because I am looking at a similar setup. Thanks!

Haven’t noticed anything weird or any bending parts. I tested the weight beforehand with my own weight and some other people so it should do the job properly 😅 So far it’s been great and I definitely recommend it! You could always reinforce the Kallax with metal L shaped plates for extra security but I don’t think it’s actually necessary.

do you not have any issues with the weight on the Kallax? i love the idea of putting the detolfs on a Kallax, i want to do the same, but if you look at the kallax store page weight limit you should not even put 1 detolf on it? xD

I haven't noticed any issues so far after half a year and I'm very happy with this current setup! If I'm really honest, I didn't even look up the maximum weight oops... But it hasn't even bended a bit! Also no cracks visible or whatsoever. I think you should be just fine with this setup, but I cannot guarantee there will be no issues at all for anyone since not every IKEA product is produced equally 😓
