Grreat review, thanks for the info. Was just wondering whether you did any "heavy duty cooking" and how it behaved. Thinking something like fried fish or schnitzel - stuff that really is hard to contain even for a normal hood

I'm considering this hob. I use a wok for stir fry a lot but worry that the extractor won't be able to work that effectively due to the shape and height of the wok. I don't suppose you've used this for a wok or a very deep frying pan?

Is this hob suitable for non ikea kitchens …I’ve heard there may be problems as the ikea kicker board is only suitable and it is difficult to fit to a non ikea kitchen

Hi. We have bought the 60cm version of this hob and we are struggling to get it work. We had it exchanged as when we try to set it up (power limitation from manual) we get an E5 error. Could I ask what amperage fuse you had installed for it? Also, did you have to go through the power limitation menu? Your help would be appreciated.

Like, Mackan, I've been thinking of investing in this and your review review has been brilliant, thank you. I was surprised just how well the drawers were designed to accommodate.
@nickyl42603 жыл бұрын
The drawer was adapted by our carpenter. But I think you can get ones designed to fit that are actually from IKEA if you go for an IKEA kitchen.

Very helpful review, as we are considering this. I was also exploring using the top drawer as much as possible However, IKEA does not share dimensions of engine and other parts protruding to the drawer. Would you be so kind and share these dimensions so that the carpenter could accommodate the drawer? In addition, were all necessary pipes, charcoal filters, exit grille etc. included in the package from IKEA? Thank you very much for any information on this.

Thank you! I'm debating whether to get one of these or an overhead extractor for my kitchen remodel, great information that helps in this video!

I've just had one of these installed too. We used a Wickes 900 wide drawer unit that's designed for use under a sink and the top drawer has U share which fits around the fan housing. I don''t have as much storage as Nicky L, but didn't have to cut/hack it to fit.

Great video. Thinking of getting one. The which? review said it's terrible at removing grease leading to grease settling on kitchen surfaces. Did you find this?
@nickyl42602 жыл бұрын
I actually don't find that at all. I wash the filter reasonably frequently though. So if I've cooked something particularly fatty or smelly I will wash the filter. I've been surprised at how much fat comes out of the filter- I soak it in hot soapy water and you can see the water change colour. We certainly don't have a problem with grease appearing on the surfaces. I'm sure there are better filters. But compared to our old extractor fan, this works brilliantly. One thing that we have noticed is that if you join hobs together to cook on one large space it will lose the second one after a while. I'm not sure if that's just a fault or of its that we've moved the pan slightly out of range. But it feels like it can sustain the joined hobs for about 20 mins.

Hi, I've just had this hob installed. It's really quiet in my kitchen and I hear a relay click every 5-7 seconds even when it's not in use. The noise is coming from under the left side on the hob. Does yours do the same?
@nickyl42603 жыл бұрын
No. I’m sorry Gary. But mine doesn’t make a noise at all when not in use. But I have noticed it makes a ticking if I leave pans on it when it is switched on. I hope you get it sorted.

Thank you for your review. I am planning mine at the moment and read some negative feedback that Fördelaktig has often issues with bad smell. Did you have any negative experience with smell? How about the grease and dirt which might drop into the vent? It looks like it will just drop through the charcoal filter into the fan?
@nickyl42603 жыл бұрын
Hi. Sorry. I’ve only just spotted this. I’ve not found this to be a problem. The filter stops things dropping into the fan. I do wash the filter whenever we cook anything really smelly or greasy though as it traps the smells really well.

Hello I am thinking of getting on of these hobs and wondered if your still happy with it?
@nickyl42603 жыл бұрын
Yes. I have to say I am. We’ve had no major problems with it. The only 2 small niggles are that we have acquired a couple of small scratches despite our best efforts. Although I think one was when we actually fitted it. The other glitch is that sometimes when the two hobs are joined together for a while, one stops working. I’m not sure if this is that the pan gets knocked a bit or if it just can’t sustain the two joined together for more than 20 mins. Neither are a deal breaker though. I like how fast it boils. It’s also pretty energy efficient. It looks nice and sleek. I use the venting function every time whereas I hardly used our old separate extractor. We didn’t have the budget for a bora one. But I am happy with this for our budget. Hope that helps.

Id like to know this too. We are currently designing a kitchen through DIY and they have said the back of the drawers are metal. Did you remove the back to accommodate the hob? Hope this makes sense, not had much luck talking to DIY K.

Hi there, great review, interested in how this hob simmers / keeps things at a medium temperature. Does it seem to pulse on and off a lot to do that or does it seem able to vary it’s power level to give very consistent heat at eg setting 4? Thanks very much.
@nickyl42603 жыл бұрын
It simmers really well. The only problem we have encountered is that sometimes when we link 2 jobs together one will drop out after a while. But it doesn’t do it all the time so I’m not sure if that’s just us doing something weird. It’s as consistent as our gas hob was if that helps.
