Hello Nivedita, thank you 😊 we designed this sofa in a way that it should also be comfortable sitting on without a cushion, it will feel like just sitting on a bench. Since my son was in the toddler stage at that time, cushion-less sofa was an easy maintenance. In the future we will definitely opt for a cushion 😊
