I cannot thank you enough.. I have this bed for 4 years now. With lots of moving from house to house, I have been carrying this bed with me. What a sturdy bed I must say. Why am I thanking you is because now I am moving my bed to the other room and I've just realized that I've been assembling it the hardest way all this time! Haha.. I put the 8 screws using allen key through the little holes which took ages! Now I've learnt from your video that you put all the screws half-way then slide the two metal sides and then finish tighthening the screws using allen key via small openings. Oh! Wow.. hahaha.. I taught today is gonna take forever assembling the bed like the last 4 years but I was wrong. Your video is very helpful. I am excited to continue moving the bed now. Thank you again!

@@julianguyen8914 no not really. solid build, been using it for a month now, didnt encounter any squeaky parts so far, i mean if you use it long enough maybe, due to wear and tear ya know, but i think its great, this is ikea product after all.

So sad to let it go love the way my frame looks because it's very feminine and dainty but the squeaking is ridiculous have been loosing sleep because of it currently on my 4th year of owning it and the noise has increased a tremendous amount looking for a fix bcs its otherwise great easy to clean

Unfortunately this model is discontinued. I have bought the king size for a house I used to live in a long while ago and I bought a queen size for my current house. They were extremely easy for one person to install. But those slats are a nightmare. Why have the slats in two pieces? Mine would fall down all of the time, I even ziptied them. I eventually I threw the slats away and purchased a proper box spring. The box spring I have is foldable, it rises up when you unfold it, then you zip the rest of the cover closed. The foldable boxspring is easy to assemble, inexpensive, and not hard to move. It also raises the bed a few inches. It's sad that this bed is no longer available, but by seeing it installed, it will help me disassemble it when we move to our new house.

The Leirvik bed! If we knew we haven't bought it! So pretty and good material BUT, different from from the single RAMSTA beds that the frames are in one piece with the feet of the bed, the LEIRVIK it's a big mistake because the feet are separate and with time not only SQUEAKS it seems falling down so SWINGING tiny legs! A big NO, NO!

@@nuralizazakaria8510 we didn't had it long time. We had to buy new one. The thing is that the bed frame has separated legs. So whatever you do you can't fix it. We try many things... Here in Europe the Ikea doesn't have anymore this bed. The new metal one they have doesn't have this mistake: the bed frame is all one piece with the legs. Check it out!

@@IzzyandShadow The LEIRVIK bed is not one piece. The head and bottom frames are separated from the feet part. Explain: the headboard is two pieces and so the bottom board. That's why squeaks after it gets lose with time. I hope it's clear. 😊😊

Hi there. I have this bed since 2016. Please make sure you tighten completely, in clockwise direction all 8 screws using the allen key provided. Have a good rest tonight! ^_^

Very helpful video! Although my bed frame is a NESTUN, the assembly of the main section, the bottom section, is apparently identical. The higher grade LONSET bed slats apparently do not fall through the way the cheaper LUROY bed slats do.

Hope you got this bed! I had it for a year and it was fine. Never squeaked. Just tighten it well. For whatever it's worth I'm 5'4 and 110lbs. I've also slept on it with my boyfriend who is about 200lbs of muscle.

I used the older model of this bed (only one part is different, but mostly the same) for about 6 years. It was fantastic. It didn't squeak and it was very comfortable. I think that some items, like this, might need tightening up after a while. I'm now trying to put it up again, for use in my 3rd flat - I hope that it continues to be squeak free!

Can you put a regular 1-inch thick plank instead of the slats? Slats hurt my back so much. Is there a risk breaks with movement? Not a nice feeling to wake up when the plank collapses.

I have a chronic back condition and had spinal surgery 10 years ago. This bed was a godsend, so much better than my previous one. I really think that the slats are fine. It's the mattress that you have to be careful about. Make sure that you buy one firm enough for you.

Yes if you have LEIRSUND or LÖNSET remove the stoppers if you have lonset keep them in

Mine is different, too, because it's an older model. I've had it for 10 years. I couldn't work out how to put it back together, after it's been in storage for a few years, because the instructions didn't make sense for my bed. Now I can see why - the side rails are fixed differently.
